About the Role
As a Sales Engineer on the Applied AI team, you will serve as the technical expert at the intersection of Podium’s AI products and our most strategic enterprise accounts and partners. You will work directly with prospects, clients, and partner engineering teams to design, validate, and deploy AI-powered solutions across industries like home services, automotive, retail and many more.
This role is part sales engineer, part solutions architect, and part AI product strategist. You will play a critical role in both pre-sales technical engagement and post-sale implementation planning.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the technical lead in enterprise sales cycles, partnering closely with AEs, solution consultants, and product teams to win new business
- Design and present AI-powered solution architectures for use cases like AI voice agents, intelligent messaging, customer workflow automation, and real-time lead conversion
- Lead deep-dive technical discovery sessions with IT, marketing, operations, and innovation teams at multi-location enterprises
- Work closely with Podium’s AI product and engineering teams to provide customer feedback and influence roadmap decisions
- Collaborate with system integrators, cloud solutions and enterprise IT teams to ensure smooth integration into legacy systems and CRMs
- Own and deliver custom demos, proof-of-concept deployments, and technical validation steps during the sales cycle
- Support pilot programs and help customers transition from early adoption to scaled AI deployment
- Contribute to technical documentation, reference architectures, and enablement materials for both customers and partners
- Represent Podium at technical partner events, industry summits, and developer workshops
What You Bring
- 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Partner Engineer, or similar)
- Deep technical understanding of cloud-based SaaS platforms, REST APIs, data integrations, and enterprise systems (CRMs, POS, etc.)
- Familiarity with generative AI concepts (LLMs, vector databases, RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering)
- Strong presentation skills and ability to explain complex AI/ML concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and technical validation stages
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and revenue teams
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple high-value accounts, with a bias for action and execution
- Bonus: experience working with system integrators, digital transformation teams, or cloud marketplaces
