Description
As a part of the Sanitation team, you will play a key role in helping to keep the facility clean and sanitary in order to help us deliver the highest quality products for our customers. This position reports to the Sanitation Manager
Specific Duties:
- At shift exchange, communicate with incoming employees all details including finished and unfinished work, any problems, missing tools, safety issues, or any other relevant or helpful information
- Be able to lift a minimum of 55 LBS.
- Read MSDS for all grades of chemicals
- Know safety procedures for spills, accidental mixtures, and physical exposure. You will need to be able to complete training within 30 days and be competent within that time.
- Know general sanitation procedures and prove competency within 30 days
- Collect and empty trash from various areas and departments throughout the facility and setting it in areas designated for removal
- Be forklift certified within 30 days.
- Distribute all PPE’s to designated locations, gloves, hair nets, floor mats
- Improve the cleanliness of the plant overall. Including all office areas and
- production areas. This shall include all areas previously assigned to Sanitation including outside structures and other areas as they affect production or product.
- Responsible for physically washing all trash containers and white barrels as needed
- Check the washroom for all the work that needs to be done i.e. dirty bins, tools, etc.
- Follow all chemical training and safety programs and make inputs for procedures as needed.
- Attend daily training
- Complete all necessary assignments nightly, weekly, and monthly as assigned under the calendar, by supervisor or QA program
- Complete “TAKEDOWN” process
- Promote teamwork
- Complete all requested special projects
- Work within sanitary guidelines and keep all food being produced with these.
- Responsible for cleaning all machines inside the extruder room, all floor areas inside the extruder room, all overheads, walkways, and shelving in the extruder room, and any assigned projects for the extruder room.
- Keeps logs of all completed tasks including daily, weekend, and monthly cleaning logs, and place them in designated areas when complete.
- Complete walkthrough with the supervisor as to levels of clean needing to be reached weekly. This will be consistent and change until the highest standard is reached.
- Implement and apply Lean concepts to all work-related activities
- Capable of performing manager’s responsibilities through training
- Fill out all necessary paperwork before going home
- Responsible for food safety
- Titration of chemicals used and file the data on C-118 Chemical Titration Log
- Be able to understand how to handle chemicals in a safe way
- Understand the minimum of SQF requirements
- Be able to do a pre-operation (pre-op) in the absence of the Sanitation lead or manager
- Understand how to calculate manual concentrations of chemicals used in case the dispensers are broken or are not working properly
- Understand that you need to have an open schedule on the weekend.
- Complete all requested special projects
- Follow all chemical training and safety programs and make inputs for procedures as needed.
- Additional duties may be assigned and/or required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularly
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to adhere to schedule work hours
- Maintain proper hygiene
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English
Personal Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
