This position is responsible for processing Customer Performance deductions; to include research, customer contact, chargeback, follow-up and collection. This position will also back-up cash application and will assist with Customer Program deductions for processing; to include tracking, coding and resolution.

Essential Duties

  • Process Customer Performance Deductions: Research and validate deductions, create credit memo for valid cases, and initiate chargeback for invalid deductions; pull information from customer website and gather details from other departments.
  • Back up Cash Application: Back up Cash Application, learn and understand the cash application and deductions processes, and cover duties in staff absence.
  • Processing Customer Program Deductions: Maintain the Customer Program tracking spreadsheet, log each deduction, record deductions on the appropriate deal sheet, list deduction status, email Sales personnel to create Trade Form or clarify the deal sheet to use, and code each deduction.
  • Projects and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and terminology.
  • Knowledge of telephone and business etiquette.
  • Knowledge of basic PC and telephone system operations.
  • Skill on 10-key and personal computer and/or computer terminal keyboard.
  • Skill in operating office machinery, such as copier, facsimile, adding machine, and telephone.
  • Skill in math basics, accounting procedures and analysis.
  • Ability to use good situational judgment in making decisions and problem solving.
  • Ability to pay attention to details in work.
  • Ability to produce accurate work.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in a professional manner with visitors, co-workers, customers and executive management.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


  • One (1) year experience as a bookkeeper or accounting assistant.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), business school or some college preferred.
