This role
The Corporate Finance Director is responsible for leading the company’s global financial planning and reporting function. This executive will partner closely with senior leadership across Accounting, Operations, Product, and finance leads in each country to drive disciplined forecasting, insightful financial reporting, and scalable planning processes aligned with the company’s long-term growth. The ideal candidate is both a strategic operator and a hands-on builder who elevates financial rigor across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • 3 major focuses:
  • Financial Reporting & Management Insights
  • Own the monthly finance reporting package, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial and operational insights.
  • Define the management P&L, including design, structure, and ongoing reporting cadence.
  • Lead and own board reporting, including preparation of materials, financial exhibits, and delivering insightful strategic commentary for the CEO and top leadership.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate management reporting for product updates, new product launches, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Own the finance model we share with potential investors, ensuring every quarter it’s updated with actuals and aligned with current projections, a bridge from GAAP to Management reporting, and keeping up to date with Accounting convention changes.
  • Lead PayJoy’s 3-year plan in partnership with top finance, GTM, and product leaders.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Corporate Planning
  • Drive the global budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company strategy and functional priorities.
  • Own the company’s process to track global headcount vs. budget, partnering with HR, Talent, and department leaders to monitor hiring plans.
  • Provide financial leadership and business partnering support to 3–4 global functions, offering analysis and guidance to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Define and maintain the corporate department and GL structure, ensuring the framework supports scalable reporting, accountability, and transparency.
  • Strategic Finance & Leadership
  • Lead long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, and capital allocation frameworks.
  • Provide executive leadership with financial insights that influence strategy, pricing, investments, and operational optimization.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives including system improvements (e.g., ERP, planning tools), forecasting automation, dashboarding, and BI enablement.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, financial strategy, or related senior finance leadership roles.
  • FinTech, banking, or lending corporate finance experience strongly preferred due to the complexity and regulatory nature of the business model.
  • Demonstrated experience owning company-wide budget processes, board reporting, and executive-level financial communications.
  • Experience partnering with accounting and product teams on financial structure, reporting updates, and new product enablement.
  • Expert experience with PBCS / Hyperion (Oracle EPM) or comparable enterprise financial planning systems.
  • Strong accounting foundation; CPA preferred.
