About the role10+ years in network security engineering, with at least 5-6 years of hands-on experience with NAC Technologies
Aruba ClearPass (Expert Level)
- Deep expertise in:
ClearPass Policy Manager
ClearPass Guest & Onboard
ClearPass Profiler
- Advanced policy logic and service rule design
- Large-scale ClearPass cluster deployments
Access Technologies
- Expert-level understanding of:
802.1X, EAP-TLS, PEAP
RADIUS and TACACS+
Certificate-based authentication (PKI)
- Experience with wired, wireless, VPN, and IoT access models
Network & Security Fundamentals
- Strong understanding of:
Switching, routing, and VLAN design
Network security concepts
Zero Trust and segmentation strategies
Multi-Vendor NAC Experience (Preferred)
- NAC enforcement across:
- Aruba, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto
- Experience integrating NAC with non-Aruba ecosystems
Soft Skills
- Strong security design articulation and documentation skills
- Ability to lead architecture discussions with customers
- Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams
- Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills

- Aruba ClearPass
- Aruba Central
- Active Directory / Azure AD
- MDM/UEM platforms

NAC Architecture & High-Level Design
- Architect end-to-end Aruba ClearPass NAC solutions for enterprise networks
- Design:
ClearPass cluster architecture (Publisher / Subscriber, HA, DR)
Authentication and authorization workflows
Role-based and posture-based access control
Define NAC strategy aligned with Zero Trust principlesPolicy Design & Access Control
- Design and implement:
802.1X (wired & wireless)
MAC authentication (MAB)
Role mapping and enforcement models
- Create advanced ClearPass Policy Manager workflows
- Design dynamic VLAN, downloadable user roles, and ACL enforcement
- Define exception handling and fallback scenarios
- Profiling, Guest & BYOD
- Architect and deploy:
Device profiling (IoT, OT, unmanaged devices)
Guest access portals and workflows
BYOD onboarding with certificate-based authentication
- Integrate ClearPass Onboard and Guest modules
- Customize portals, workflows, and user experience
Posture & Compliance
- Design posture assessment strategies
- Integrate ClearPass with endpoint security platforms (AV, EDR)
- Define compliance enforcement and remediation workflows
- Align NAC posture design with enterprise security policies
Operations & Governance
- Act as SME for escalations (L3 support).
- Maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
- Conduct health checks, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to operations teams
