We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Developer 2 with deep expertise in OpenSearch, Observability, and large-scale systems to join our infrastructure development team. In this senior individual contributor role, you will design and develop solutions for massive, distributed systems handling millions of logs per minute. You will also build and maintain core infrastructure using Terraform, implement Kubernetes operators using Golang, and collaborate closely with SRE teams, including serving in an on-call rotation. Experience working with networking devices and related hardware is nice to have for this position.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $68,500 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Career Level - IC2
- Design, develop, and maintain robust observability and logging solutions leveraging OpenSearch for large-scale environments.
- Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate and manage deployments.
- Build Kubernetes operators and related system components using Golang.
- Collaborate with SRE teams on system reliability, scalability, and performance—including participation in on-call rotation as required.
- Analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot systems handling millions of logs per minute across large clusters.
- Work directly with networking devices and related network hardware as part of system integration and operations.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and process improvement initiatives.
- Document architecture, processes, and best practices to support high-quality, maintainable systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive software development experience, preferably with large-scale or distributed systems.
- Strong OpenSearch experience—designing, deploying, tuning, and operating solutions at scale.
- Deep knowledge of observability architectures and tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Proficient with infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform.
- Golang development experience, particularly in building Kubernetes operators or controllers.
- Understanding of Kubernetes ecosystem and cloud-native infrastructure patterns.
- Strong debugging, performance analysis, and optimization skills in distributed environments.
- Experience working closely with SRE/DevOps teams; comfortable participating in on-call rotations.
- Hands-on experience working with networking switches and related hardware.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with large, high-throughput log and telemetry systems (handling millions of logs per minute).
- Experience designing and running large-scale cloud infrastructure on Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of microservices, CI/CD, and security best practices.
