The Consulting Member of Technical Staff (CMTS) is a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, prototyping, and delivering advanced networking mechanisms that underpin large-scale AI systems. This role focuses on deep technical execution—designing and implementing production-quality features across SmartNICs, programmable switches, and end-host networking stacks, with a focus on real-world deployment, performance, and robustness.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Plane & Offload Development:

  • Design and implement multi-path-aware routing algorithms for execution on SmartNICs and switches.
  • Develop high-performance data plane logic using low-level systems programming and hardware SDKs for routing, load-balancing, and real-time telemetry offloads.
  • Optimize packet processing pipelines for deterministic low-latency and high-throughput operation.

Congestion Control & Transport Algorithms:

  • Implement congestion control mechanisms leveraging detailed network telemetry (queue depth, loss, latency, link health).
  • Build and optimize transport-level solutions that adaptively select paths and adjust rates in large-scale AI fabrics.

ML Collective & RDMA Systems:

  • Develop collective communication transports for ML workloads that maintain high performance through congestion, failures, and irregular topologies.
  • Implement and scale RDMA across multipath environments, ensuring correctness and adherence to ordering guarantees.
  • Extend RDMA-based architectures to storage and data services for enhanced efficiency and lower latency.

Validation & Performance Engineering:

  • Develop frameworks, simulators, and proofs-of-concept to validate functionality, scalability, and resilience.
  • Analyze and optimize performance across hardware (NIC/switch), kernel/firmware, and user-space boundaries.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed and low-level systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in systems, networking, or kernel-level engineering, with proven hands-on technical depth.
  • Expertise in RDMA, congestion control, transport protocols, and high-performance packet processing.
  • Strong implementation skills for complex, hardware-proximal algorithms with a focus on correctness and performance.
  • Proficiency in debugging cross-layer, distributed, and low-level technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale AI training/inference infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with programmable networking pipelines and hardware SDKs.
  • Track record of delivering complex, production-quality networking features at scale.
