We are seeking a Director to lead the Networking Reliability Automation and AI for Operations (AI-Ops) Development Team within OCI’s Network Management organization.
This team builds the AI, analytics, and automation systems that power OCI’s self-healing cloud — integrating advanced ML models, telemetry pipelines, and intelligent remediation engines to transform network and service operations.
The ideal leader will have deep experience in hyperscale cloud or large-scale networking environments, managing both software development and AI/ML integration teams, and a track record of driving operational excellence through intelligent automation.
The OCI team is seeking an experienced Software Development Director to lead and drive strategy for teams building highly scalable, secure, and reliable cloud services, with focus areas including AI/ML, HPC, distributed systems, and automation. This is a full-service senior leadership role—balancing hands-on technical engagement, people development, and cross-team collaboration to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

- Attract, develop, and manage high-performing, diverse software engineering and AI/ML teams.
- Define and execute product and technical roadmaps to deliver operational efficiency, scalability, and innovation across cloud infrastructure using advanced analytics and machine learning.
- Lead the architecture, development, and production deployment, telemetry data pipelines, and automation platforms.
- Establish and monitor metrics and KPIs ensuring high service reliability, availability, and quality.
- Drive strategic technology initiatives, including the delivery and operation of advanced AI/ML and intelligent automation capabilities.
- Solve complex problems across distributed systems, infrastructure, and network reliability.
- Champion and implement improvements in observability, monitoring, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate closely with other product, engineering, and operations leaders to deliver integrated solutions to customers.
- Mentor, coach, and grow technical leadership within your teams and the larger organization.
- Influence the product vision, roadmap, and priorities, leveraging sound technical judgment and customer insights.
- Participate in and coordinate on-call escalations as part of the management team as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or large-scale networking, with at least 4 years in a senior management or director role leading large teams.
- Deep experience in hyperscale cloud or large-scale networking environments.
- Demonstrated success managing both software development and AI/ML integration teams.
- Proven experience building and operating large-scale, distributed, highly reliable systems leveraging intelligent automation.
- Hands-on expertise in AI/ML architecture and model deployment in production environments.
- Experience with large-scale systems design, data engineering, and automation frameworks.
- Track record of driving talent acquisition, onboarding, and team performance management.
- Exceptional organizational, communication (verbal & written), and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to influence roadmaps, set strategic priorities, and deliver measurable results in a fast-paced environment.
