Oracle Government, Defense and Intelligence organization is seeking a technically proficient Cloud Engineer with hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and optimizing cloud services using modern automation and orchestration technologies. Ensuring seamless systems and cloud connectivity for our customers, you will deliver and optimize high-performance, scalable on-premises systems and cloud networking solutions as well as troubleshoot and debug complex distributed systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for staying at the forefront of technological advancement. The candidate will possess an advanced understanding of networking technologies and demonstrated experience in configuration of a highly available, high speed, scalable network environments. Experience with distributed or hybrid cloud environments is mandatory. This role requires the ability to bridge complex functional and technical requirements and support critical business objectives through innovation and collaboration.

Must currently hold and have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly.

This role is a full-time, in-person position, primarily based in the office with occasional visits to client sites. We are seeking candidates who reside in the Virginia/Washington DC region.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, automate, and support solutions on cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms, utilizing technologies such as Python, Ansible, Docker, JSON, REST, and YAML.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Linux/Unix environments and configure and troubleshoot networking to ensure high availability, speed, and scalability.
  • Develop and integrate automation workflows, leveraging scripting languages (Python, Java, Bash, and/or C/C++) and configuration management tools.
  • Build, manage, and optimize distributed systems, ensuring scalability, availability, and security in hybrid environments.
  • Manage and troubleshoot complex IP addressing schemes, including subnetting, supernetting, and route summarization for scalable network architecture.
  • Participate actively in Agile delivery teams, using Scrum and incorporating best practices throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Participate in life cycle management (LCM) activities, with a focus on designing, documenting, and maintaining technical processes, designs, and methods of procedure for network and cloud systems.
  • Maintain a continuous learning mindset and adapt quickly to new frameworks, technologies, and challenges.
  • Provide technical coaching and support skill development for junior team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree(s) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering
  • Robust cloud engineering experience in installing and configuring cloud services like, but not limited to, APIs, data transfers, security, access, etc; as well as implementing simple to complex types of cloud architectures.
  • Professional certification(s) such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent. Ok if professional qualification is no longer current.
  • Experience with interior and exterior networking routing protocols and ensuring the optimization and seamless communication across networks. Ability to perform protocol and packet analysis of traffic flow in support of the same.
  • Advanced knowledge of configuring network switches for throughput performance and redundancy.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking to solve complex challenges.
  • Experience in capacity management, traffic engineering, and performance optimization including network operating systems including Cisco IOS/NX-OS, PAN-OS, Arista EOS, etc.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and security in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Knowledge of industry compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Keen understanding and respect for need to know.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in Oracle or OCI platforms (e.g., OCI Foundations).
