Job Description
As Director of Software Engineering in the Datacenter Infrastructure Delivery organization within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you will provide strategic leadership to multiple engineering teams—and their managers—responsible for developing robust software solutions that enable the rapid, reliable delivery of OCI’s global datacenter infrastructure. In this high-impact role, you will set the vision and strategy for critical automation projects, ensuring your organization’s objectives are closely aligned with OCI’s mission and the broader organizational vision.

- Organizational Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, ensuring the professional growth of individual contributors, managers, and senior managers.
- Architecture & Delivery: Oversee software architecture, development, debugging, and enhancement activities in line with provided design specifications and business requirements. Advocate for and drive improvements within existing architectures, guiding your teams in delivering resilient and scalable solutions.
- Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the technology roadmap and operational strategies for datacenter automation, ensuring alignment with OCI’s priorities and evolving industry trends—especially as they relate to AI and cloud-scale operations.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a key liaison between software engineering, product, datacenter operations, and support teams; orchestrate internal and external resources to deliver successful project outcomes..
- Performance Management: Set clear, measurable goals at all organizational levels; monitor progress and hold teams accountable for achieving key deliverables.
- Strategic Communication: Articulate forward-looking plans, strategies, and project outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders, ensuring widespread understanding, support, and alignment.
- Talent Development: Lead by example in identifying and nurturing talent, conducting career development conversations, and promoting a culture of continuous learning and advancement.
Qualifications
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years leading complex engineering or technical programs, including at least 5 years as a people manager and 3+ years managing other managers.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong, hands-on technical background, with knowledge of software development, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, and data center systems.
- Strategic Vision: Proven ability to define and execute long-term strategic and operational roadmaps for large-scale technical organizations.
- Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
- Project/Program Management: Over 10 years of experience managing complex, large-scale engineering projects, with a record of on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications in project/program management preferred.
- Passion for Excellence: Demonstrated drive to create and lead world-class engineering organizations and the mindset to foster excellence at every level.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
