Job Description

The Global Physical Security (GPS) System Team manages physical security technology across the Corporation. Oracle is seeking a highly experienced hands-on engineering lead to work on critical physical security infrastructure automation initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the design, build and delivery of essential physical security infrastructure components.

We are looking for a hand-on engineering lead with distributed systems experience. You should have experience with the design of major features, building and deploying them into production. You've built and supported high-scale services in production and understand how to make them more resilient. You have the ability to drive projects and tasks independently as well as provide technical leadership for development team. You will be working on automating bootstrapping configuration of physical devices using API of device providers. Your influence over the design of the full system architecture is critical. You should have solid understanding of cloud networking technologies. You should be familiar with all levels of the software, hardware, and network stack.

Responsibilities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES

  • A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Python or C++, and experience with shell scripting
  • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and cloud network technologies.
  • Hands on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible and Jenkins
  • Hands on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Helm for container build, deployment and management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with major cloud providers (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of databases, NoSQL, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise
  • Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing with technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations
  • Deep understanding of service monitoring, auditing and alerting. Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana and centralized logging stacks
  • Experience with Mentoring engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Cloud and CICD environments
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows OS
  • Proficiency with modern build tools and pipelines
  • Proficiency building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure
  • Proficiency with Security including Identity, SSL and certificates

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
