Engineering Manager — Next-Generation CI/CD Platform
Location: Nashville is preference; Austin will also be considered
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead teams building Oracle’s next-generation CI/CD platform for OCI Developers, designed to deliver seamless, automated deployments and operational confidence at cloud scale. In this role, you will drive technical excellence, guide product direction, and foster a culture based on continual improvement, trust, direct feedback, and healthy debate. You will measure team health and delivery through impactful outcomes—prioritizing efficiency, developer empowerment, and relentless simplification at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by Example: Stay actively engaged with architecture, design, and code reviews; remove technical blockers; and mentor engineers at every stage of their careers.
- Drive Outcomes: Measure and improve team throughput, focusing on delivering real customer value—minimizing cognitive load, errors, and manual toil for thousands of developers and regions.
- Lean and Agile Mindset: Optimize for rapid, high-quality iteration; manage cycle times and minimize work-in-progress; proactively improve processes, and champion all aspects of product delivery.
- Build Cohesion: Foster a culture of psychological safety, direct feedback, open debate, and respect—ensuring the team is greater than the sum of its parts.
- Empower Individuals: Support experimentation, audacity, and risk-taking, while using data to inform decisions and quickly learn from outcomes. Recognize and nurture each engineer’s unique strengths and perspectives.
- Technical Leadership: Set and uphold the highest standards for architecture, code quality, reliability, security, and operational rigor—especially as the platform scales alongside Oracle’s global cloud expansion.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product and leadership to translate vision into execution; integrate with critical developer tools, and advocate for our customers at every turn.
- Coach, Develop & Hire: Mentor and grow engineers, continually raise the team’s bar, and hire exceptional talent with varied backgrounds who will shape our culture and success.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including significant time coding in Java and/or TypeScript (Python, Go, and similar modern languages a plus)
- 5+ years of experience in technical leadership and/or people management, with a proven track record of leading and developing engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience building teams: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Strong organizational and planning skills, including work breakdown, iteration planning, and execution tracking
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and scalable architectures
- Familiarity with modern development practices, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps principles
- Comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle, and able to step in and contribute code when needed

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
