Job Description

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is searching for exceptional Principal Software Engineers to join our team. Our goal is to make cloud continuous delivery as dependable and invisible as electricity—always on, trusted, and empowering developers to focus on their best work. We’re engineering the CI/CD platform that Oracle developers can rely on: automation that fades into the background, yet delivers reliability and confidence at massive scale. If you thrive on complex problems, bold thinking, and purposefully shaping the backbone of cloud development, join us.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

• Architect, design, and build robust, scalable CI/CD solutions for Oracle Cloud, driving end-to-end ownership from ideation through deployment and operations.

• Collaborate with a talented, diverse team—contributing your voice in a culture that values healthy debate, direct feedback, and trust.

• Embrace continual improvement by leading features, conducting system retrospectives, and participating in 360° feedback sessions.

• Instill DevOps best practices and champion automation, code quality, and reproducibility.

• Take bold, data-informed approaches to solve tough problems, balancing experimentation with real-world metrics and user feedback.

• Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and help evolve our technical standards, culture, and processes.

• Serve as a voice of the developer, advocating for easy, delightful workflows and empathetic solutions that make cloud engineering not just possible, but exceptional.

What We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on work with modern CI/CD, developer platforms, OR developer productivity tools.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, Java, TypeScript, or similar).

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP); exposure to Oracle Cloud is a plus.

• Strong expertise in containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).

• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and operate distributed systems at scale.

• Commitment to open and constructive collaboration—values trust, direct feedback, and continuous growth for oneself and the team.

• Strong written and verbal communicator; able to present complex ideas and advocate for technical solutions.

• Growth mindset, curiosity, and genuine passion for empowering developers and teams.

Bonus Experience:

• Building or maintaining CI/CD as a service, internal platforms, or large-scale developer-facing systems.

• Involvement in open-source DevOps tools or platform communities.

Why Join?

• Be part of an ambitious team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the day-to-day lives of OCI engineers and the cloud ecosystem.

• Collaborate in an environment where continual improvement, healthy debate, and individual voices are celebrated.

• Enjoy opportunities for growth, experimentation, and real impact—every engineer’s idea matters here.

• Help define the standards of modern developer experience and cloud software delivery at Oracle.
