You will design and build innovative new systems from the ground up and be a part of a group that is technically grounded and experienced. Our goal is to use software to speed up traditionally slow, manual infrastructure tasks, doing in hours what used to take days or weeks. You will own parts of the software design and development of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (https://cloud.oracle.com/cloud-infrastructure).

We’re looking for a hands-on software engineer (Principal) with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services, revolutionize how we manage the physical infrastructure underneath this new cloud. You should be both a rock-solid developer and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant experience delivering and operating large software systems at scale.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Proficient in at least one (preferably two) of the following languages: Java, C/C++, C# or GoLang
• Strong grasp of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals)
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), and standard network architectures
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Working familiarity with UNIX operating system and related tools
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
