Job Description

The OCI Virtual Networking Control Plane team builds and operates the core networking services that power Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We are responsible for designing highly available, scalable, and secure service that enable customers to create and manage Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), subnets, route tables, and network security constructs. Our control plane services provide the APIs and orchestration layers that configure and enforce connectivity and security across OCI’s global cloud footprint.

We are looking for passionate and experienced engineer to join us as a Senior Principal Software Developer. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Virtual Networking platform—driving scalability, reliability, and innovative new features that directly impact our customers around the globe. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and operation of software services that orchestrate Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s virtual networking control plane.
  • Define strategic delivery objectives and technical milestones for complex software projects, and decompose high-level system architecture into detailed, actionable designs.
  • Serve as the technical lead in cross-functional teams, coordinating engineers, advising program leadership, and aligning work with broader organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams, leadership, and architecture peers to ensure platform solutions match requirements, policy frameworks, and business goals.
  • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis to ensure reliability and availability.
  • Mentor and coach junior and peer engineers, hosting design reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate the team’s capabilities.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
