Job Description
Position Overview:
The Director, Data Center Facility Operations, will be responsible for the overall management of a critical data center site in Abilene, TX. This leader will oversee multiple facility managers and technical resources, ensuring all critical facility operations—including MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems and on-site power generation (natural gas turbines)—meet or exceed Oracle's standards for uptime, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direct management to facility managers and technical staff to deliver robust, compliant, and efficient data center operations.
- Oversee daily operations of all MEP systems, including oversight of preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive uptime and availability by monitoring and meeting or exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and compliance requirements.
- Manage and coordinate on-site power generation, with a particular focus on natural gas turbine systems, ensuring redundancy, reliability, and energy efficiency.
- Ensure that all facility processes and procedures adhere to Oracle’s safety, security, compliance, and operational guidelines.
- Develop technical training programs to maintain a high level of staff competency and readiness.
- Serve as the primary site contact for all data center facility crises, risk mitigation, incident response, change management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships related to facility services, safety, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
- Lead coordination for regular audits (internal and external) and support capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and empowerment among team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in mission-critical facility operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing managers and technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of data center MEP systems, building management, and automated monitoring and control systems.
- Experience managing on-site power generation (preferably natural gas turbines) and understanding of redundancy and failover systems.
- Strong project management skills and experience delivering results in high-uptime, compliance-driven environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and staff development programs.
- Experience working in a cloud infrastructure or highly regulated environment is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as PMP, LEED AP, CFM, or equivalent.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or similar hyperscale cloud environments.
Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
