Job Description

Oracle is seeking a Senior Critical Facility Director to oversee the operations, maintenance, and optimization of our data center campus, including a Gas Turbine Generation plant. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of mission-critical infrastructure while leading a team of facility professionals. The Senior Critical Facility Director will partner closely with cross-functional departments to drive business continuity, scalability, and security across operational and IT environments, with a focus on leveraging national vendor agreements and optimizing performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead and manage a team responsible for the maintenance and operation of critical facilities, including the Gas Turbine Generation plant.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and performance management to foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment.
    • Develop and implement a culture of safety and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Critical Systems Oversight
    • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of critical systems, including electrical power (UPS, generators, Gas Turbine Generation plant), HVAC (cooling systems), fire suppression, and physical security.
    • Ensure the integrity and reliability of all systems, including power generation, to maintain uptime and operational efficiency.
    • Proactively identify potential risks, system weaknesses, and mitigation strategies to minimize downtime or service disruptions.
  • Facility Operations Management
    • Drive operational excellence by coordinating and overseeing the operation of the Gas Turbine Generation plant and other critical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous service.
    • Manage scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs, ensuring adherence to response times and performance metrics.
    • Create and manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules using digital facility management systems to ensure all critical equipment, including gas turbines, is properly serviced.
  • Budgeting
    • Develop and oversee the annual budget for critical facility operations, including power generation, ensuring cost-effective resource management while adhering to fiscal constraints.
    • Leverage national agreements to optimize costs and align capacity requirements with strategic business goals in collaboration with IT, Network, and Security teams.
  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
    • Ensure robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place for critical facilities and power generation systems, regularly tested, and updated.
    • Lead response efforts to critical incidents, ensuring personnel safety and minimal impact on operations.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to maintain high-availability configurations and maximize uptime.
  • Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure facility and power generation operations comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
    • Regularly audit and monitor performance, environmental, and power generation metrics to ensure compliance with established policies.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Continuously assess and improve facility operations, including gas turbine performance, to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance system reliability.
    • Implement innovative solutions and emerging technologies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability across critical facilities.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related), or a related field. MBA or advanced certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, Power Plant Operator certification) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of experience in critical facilities management, data center operations, or power generation.
    • Proven track record of managing and maintaining mission-critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and power generation systems.
    • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and overseeing large-scale operational projects in high-availability environments.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of critical facility operations, including power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression, building management systems (BMS), and Gas Turbine Generation plant operations.
    • Proficiency in risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.
    • Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze complex technical issues, including power generation performance, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Proficiency with digital facility management systems and power plant control systems.
    • Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory standards, vendor management, KPIs, SLAs, and response time standards.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operational manuals for gas turbines and facility systems.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
