The Impact You’ll Make

The Growth marketing team is looking for an experienced email marketer reporting to the Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager. In this full time contractor role, you’ll help build out the business solutions lifecycle function as our product grows and evolves. You will be responsible for driving performance and the execution of programs that convert, retain, grow and deepen engagement. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Revenue, International, and peers in Marketing to help build our fast-growing business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Execute email marketing strategies in support of company OKRs
  • Manage the email production process from start to finish, including audience segmentation, creative development, campaign set up and journey mapping, HTML coding, QA, approval, deployment, and performance monitoring
  • Launch triggered communications in support of the customer journey, including journey development and event mapping
  • Work with data science to gather cross channel (email, social, paid media) audience insights, incorporate into segmentation based on learnings
  • Manage the workflow from cross functional stakeholders to internal team work streams, proactively manage the production schedule, communicate updates, and collect necessary approvals
  • Execute A/B and multivariate testing based on key hypotheses that continuously improve performance and drive channel growth
  • Track campaign defined KPIs, analyze, interpret, and develop results reports, and identify ways to improve performance
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Technology team to maintain the integrity of the subscriber database
  • Maintain creative asset documentation and best practices
  • Be up to date on email best practices and work to ensure they are being followed
  • Understand the backend journey of an email, barriers to making it to the inbox, handoffs, DNS, IP’s, DKIM, definition of all bounce reasons, etc. Monitor and recommend tactics to improve delivery
  • Follow competitive marketplace and email trends
  • Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
  • Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values

What You’ll Bring to The Team

  • 3-5 years of experience managing high volume email programs
  • HTML and CSS knowledge for email development
  • SQL knowledge and the ability to edit SQL queries
  • Ability to translate analytic data into strategic recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Self-motivated and energetic mindset with the ability to multi-task, work independently, and learn technical information quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Curiosity and desire to make things better, faster, and stronger

Bonus Points

  • Experience with B2B email campaign management
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Litmus, Qlik and SQL
  • Experience working in email marketing platforms (Iterable)
  • An understanding of design tools (Adobe Photoshop and/or Figma)
  • Experience with consumer communications platforms

Rewards

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $50 - $70/hour.
