Netflix’s Infrastructure Engineering organization provides the backbone that powers Netflix’s global scale and operations across business verticals. Within this organization, Data, AI & Experimentation Platforms accelerate product velocity and business impact by providing cohesive, reliable foundations for data, analytics, machine learning, and experimentation. We reduce friction across the insight-to-production loop so teams can move from questions to decisions and from prototypes to shipped features quickly, with confidence, and with measurable outcomes.

We enable teams to build and scale ML-powered products end-to-end with AI platform capabilities for training, model management, evaluation, observability, developer tooling, and production inference. Our experimentation platform makes it easy to design, launch, monitor, and interpret experiments so teams can iterate faster and validate impact with statistical rigor and accountability.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly technical Principal Product Manager to drive Netflix’s Experimentation Platform. Your primary mission is to make experimentation effortless and reliable for teams across Netflix so that they can ship faster with measurable impact and decision confidence. You will reduce friction across the end-to-end experimentation lifecycle and help turn individual experiment results into compounding organizational learning.

You will own product strategy and execution across the platform roadmap, spanning core experimentation workflows, platform APIs and integrations, allocation and orchestration, safety guardrails, and analysis and insights. You will partner closely with engineering, data science, and product teams to ensure the platform is intuitive for self-serve usage while meeting high standards for correctness, reliability, and scalability. Key responsibilities below:

  • Simplify experiment creation, launch, and interpretation to enable broad self-serve adoption.

  • Evolve APIs and integrations so partner teams can build on experimentation capabilities.

  • Improve allocation to increase test efficiency while supporting exclusions and complex targeting.

  • Strengthen safety systems and standardized guardrails to protect key business and product metrics.

  • Enable cross-test learning with better metadata, datasets, and tooling that surfaces insights at scale.

  • Extend foundations to adjacent areas such as canaries, model evaluation, and optimization.

In this role, you'll shape the future of the Experimentation Platform at Netflix by leading a product portfolio to drive significant business impact through your vision and product leadership. You'll have the autonomy to set strategic direction, solve complex challenges, and make high-leverage decisions that impact how product managers, data scientists, and software engineers drive decision making. By identifying breakthrough opportunities and championing solutions that advance business goals and user productivity, you'll evolve platform capabilities to maximize both immediate value and long-term success.

What You Will Do

As the Product Manager for Experimentation Platform, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Set Direction: Develop a compelling long-term vision and strategy for your portfolio, aligning user needs with business objectives and industry trends

  • Champion Users: Build deep user understanding and empathy through regular engagement, research, and feedback loops to identify pain points and opportunities.

  • Manage Roadmap: Develop and prioritize initiatives that balance immediate needs with strategic evolution to maximize impact, making thoughtful trade-offs and aligning stakeholders.

  • Guide Development: Partner with design and engineering to define requirements, create intuitive interfaces, and validate solutions that ensure cohesive user journeys across the platform ecosystem.

  • Support Architecture: Partner with engineering on critical architectural decisions to ensure platform sustainability, scalability, and flexibility, while strategically managing technical debt.

  • Drive Adoption: Create effective rollout strategies and promote new capabilities through targeted communication, education, and roadshows, while providing comprehensive documentation, learning resources, and self-service tools that accelerate adoption and reduce support burden.

  • Drive Improvement: Define success metrics tied to user satisfaction and productivity, instrument the platform to measure them, and run a continuous cycle of data-driven experiments to prioritize and improve capabilities.

  • Establish Governance: Develop platform standards and processes that balance flexibility with standardization and innovation with stability to maintain quality and consistency, including API design guidelines, versioning policies, and deprecation protocols.

  • Align Stakeholders: Build strategic relationships and foster cross-functional collaboration to drive alignment and create shared ownership of outcomes.

  • Expertise: 10+ years of Technical Product Management experience (or equivalent technical role) in complex technical domains. Comfortable discussing technical design trade-offs and system quality attributes with engineering teams.

  • Domain Knowledge: Strong knowledge of experimentation and causal inference fundamentals, A/B and multivariate testing, and platform capabilities, including allocations, metric instrumentation, and governance, experiment runtime/triggering, analysis pipelines, and monitoring for bias, novelty, and interference.

  • Curiosity: Demonstrated passion for experimentation platforms and methodologies with a pulse on emerging trends. Actively seeks new perspectives and brings fresh thinking to technical challenges. Regularly uses products and observes customers to identify opportunities for improvement.

More About Experimentation @ Netflix

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $660,000.00 - $1,000,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
