At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Role

The Netflix Advertising XD team is seeking a Senior Product Designer for our Foundations squad. This horizontal role is designed for an expert who thrives on platform systems and design scaling. Beyond component maintenance, you will architect the infrastructure and "paved paths" that empower our vertical squads to deliver world-class experiences at speed. As a key member of the Architecture pillar, you will lead the evolution of the Netflix Ads Suite (NAS) as a cohesive, resilient ecosystem, ensuring our unique platform needs integrate with and elevate global design standards. The ideal candidate is a high-craft designer who thinks in ecosystems and is equally comfortable designing complex platform features as they are unblocking others through scalable architectural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect the strategy for platform systems and design scaling to ensure cross-squad resilience and durability.

  • Unblock vertical product squads by identifying architectural bottlenecks and providing scalable design solutions that reduce technical and design debt.

  • Lead the UX strategy and execution for foundational platform features, including universal navigation, notification frameworks, task management, and high-density data interfaces.

  • Partner with engineering to maintain a shared repository of standardized components, ensuring pixel-perfect alignment between platform designs and production code.

  • Serve as a strategic ambassador to the central Hawkins design team, influencing global standards to support complex Ads use cases while building deep credibility for Ads as a vital design partner.

  • Evangelize documentation and paved-path frameworks that empower designers to adopt platform standards with velocity and autonomy.

  • Operationalize AI-driven agentic workflows and intelligent UI patterns in partnership with the AI pillar to scale these frameworks across the Ads ecosystem.

  • Ground platform decisions in research regarding human and agentic archetypes to ensure infrastructure remains future-proof.

  • Audit the ecosystem to identify UI discrepancies and prioritize the foundational work needed to move the Ads Suite toward a unified experience layer.

  • Influence Product and Engineering leadership to ensure platform infrastructure is both technically feasible and vision-aligned.

  • Up-level the organization's craft through expert guidance, accelerating the speed of the entire design organization.

Key Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on platform systems, design scaling, or foundational infrastructure in complex B2B environments.

  • Systems Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Figma and a deep understanding of how platform systems scale across diverse, high-density interfaces.

  • Complex Problem Solving: A portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify high-complexity platform workflows, such as technical dashboards or multi-state state machines.

  • Architectural Mindset: You think in patterns and ecosystems, not just screens, and can articulate why a platform-level decision is the right move for long-term health.

  • Technical Fluency: Familiarity with front-end constraints and a history of successful collaboration with engineering to implement scalable systems.

  • Executive Presence: Proven ability to present platform-wide strategies to senior leadership and influence cross-functional roadmaps.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the Advertising ecosystem (e.g. Ad Tech, programmatic buying, campaign management tools, etc.).

  • Proficiency in high-fidelity prototyping to validate and demo system-level interactions.

  • Knowledge of Accessibility (A11y) standards and how to embed them into the platform core.
