At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (‘FP&A’) team at Netflix is responsible for company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis. Financial planning at Netflix spans teams that are functionally aligned (e.g., a Content planning team focused on Content planning/forecasting, a Marketing planning team focused on Marketing, and so on). The Corporate FP&A team partners closely with all of these teams, among others, to create a comprehensive consolidated financial and operational outlook and plays a key role in developing analyses and reports for senior leadership to understand how the company is performing at the global consolidated level.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager who will work closely with senior finance leadership and play a critical role in shaping and managing the global forecasting and planning process. The position is based in our corporate headquarters in Los Gatos and reports to the Director of Corporate FP&A.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Forecast Coordination & Consolidations: You’ll bring order to a fast-moving planning ecosystem. Manage the company’s planning process/calendar and corporate-level forecast consolidation. This includes setting the planning cadence/owning the planning calendar, and clearly communicating timelines, deliverables, and expectations with all planning stakeholders. You’ll also own the forecast reconciliation process to have a pulse on how the business is performing.

  • P&L Management: You’ll be an expert on our P&L. You’ll take the lead to consolidate/report our P&L, explain it at a deep level, and help ensure we’re achieving our core financial objectives. This requires deep integration with functional F&A partners, Revenue Analytics, and the rest of the Corp FP&A team (who will also contribute to this key area of the forecast).

  • Management Reporting: You’ll tell stories (financial ones). Develop reporting to summarize data and facilitate decision-making for senior management, including the CFO, Investor Relations, and the Board of Directors. The team creates high-vis financial summaries roughly 5x per year, and you’ll play a key role in preparing/presenting them.

  • Long-Range Planning: You’ll help shape our financial outlook. Manage a long-range planning process to help align the company around key financial and operational objectives, working closely with planning stakeholders in Revenue Analytics, Content, Product, and other functions, along with financial leadership.

  • People Management: You’ll lead a team. To do all the above well, you’ll manage, mentor, and develop a small but high-impact team of 2-3, and help create/shape a world-class Corp FP&A team.

  • Innovation: You’ll constantly seek to innovate and improve how we do everything above. This is particularly important as the company evolves and our business becomes more complex.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in an FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Planning role at a public company. It’s critical that this candidate has experience managing a financial planning process (could be at the business unit or corporate level).

  • Deep understanding of financial planning tools (e.g., TM1, Anaplan, Essbase, etc.), key accounting concepts, and experience developing/automating management reports on financial/operational performance

  • Extensive experience conducting quantitative and financial analysis and developing recommendations based on this analysis

  • Extremely proficient with spreadsheets and slides

  • Experience working with large data sets, SQL and Tableau knowledge a plus

  • Experience managing people

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master Degree a plus
