Full Stack Software Engineer 4 - Growth Product Experiences
Netflix
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
On the Member Commerce team, we build highly visible, business-critical experiences such as account management, plan selection, upsells, and extra member flows. These surfaces directly shape how members join, stay, and get value from Netflix.
This role is a Full Stack Software Engineering position. The work in this role will span the full stack as a baseline expectation. Engineers may work on frontend, backend, or both, depending on product needs and priorities. Comfort and confidence working on user-facing frontend experiences is an expected and important part of the role.
This hybrid role is based in Los Gatos, California. Hybrid team members are based in Los Gatos, California, spending three days a week on average at Netflix’s HQ. We offer relocation assistance, generous parental leave, vacation, and reproductive benefits.
About the role
Build delightful, performant, and accessible user experiences across web and TV platforms using TypeScript, React, and GraphQL.
Contribute across the stack, owning features end-to-end from frontend implementation through backend integration and experimentation.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to translate product ideas into experiments and shipped features.
Contribute to backend services and APIs, commonly Java-based, that support Member Commerce flows with an emphasis on clear contracts, reliability, and iteration speed.
Implement and analyze A/B tests and experiments, partnering with data science to learn quickly and inform product decisions.
Write well-tested, maintainable code across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
Participate in technical discussions around system design, performance tradeoffs, and long-term maintainability.
What sets you apart?
We’re looking for engineers who are truly full stack and comfortable working across different parts of the system, with particular ease contributing to frontend experiences when needed.
You might be a great fit if you:
Have 4–6+ years of professional software engineering experience, building production systems across both frontend and backend.
Are highly proficient in JavaScript / TypeScript and have experience building production systems with React.
Have experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs such as GraphQL or REST, and understand how decisions on one side of the stack affect the other.
Are comfortable contributing to backend codebases, including API development, data modeling, and service integration.
Take a thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that balances speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
Communicate clearly, seek feedback, and enjoy collaborating across disciplines.
Embody Netflix values such as judgment, candor, selflessness, curiosity, and inclusion.
What’s different about us?
We work on product features directly seen by over 300 million members worldwide - every line of code has global impact.
We move fast and value experimentation - taking ideas from concept to production in weeks, not quarters.
We value cross-functional collaboration as highly as technical depth - PMs, engineers, and data scientists work side by side daily.
Inclusivity is something we embrace - diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and styles are celebrated. You can be your authentic self here, as we look for culture adds, not culture fits.
Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
