At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

We are seeking a Post Production expert to add to the UCAN (U.S. and Canada) Live Sports and Specials Post Production Team in Los Angeles. This position will work with the Netflix Post Production team in executing the day-to-day tasks involved in overseeing a slate of Live Sports and Specials titles produced by external production companies and sports producers. Post Production Managers serve as the key point of contact for both external and internal partners, tracking and organizing vital post-production information and workflows from pre-production through post-production and wrap, as well as contributing to ongoing internal projects with cross-departmental teams at Netflix.

The Role

A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of post production for live broadcasts, substantial hands-on experience working in post production for live sports, as well as a strong understanding of workflows for large-scale live entertainment programming. Candidates should be self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, thorough, and able to juggle multiple and diverse tasks, with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail. This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires high performance, a bias for action, and a positive demeanor. Candidates should excel at exercising good judgment and communication even during times of ambiguity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Technical Setup and Workflow Management

  • Collaborate with Netflix Live Technical Management, Distribution, Localization teams, and external production/post partners to define and implement key post-production workflows—including camera capture, HDR color pipelines, master delivery, and final archive—with a strong focus on 4K and multicam, live-to-tape environments.

  • Establish and manage workflows for internal content reviews, such as cut reviews for pre-produced packages, features, and edited SVOD content.

  • Evaluate, vet, and enhance partner delivery workflows for SVOD content derived from live broadcasts.

  • Set up and maintain delivery workflows for Netflix-produced assets entering live broadcasts, overseeing asset management from internal creative teams to production control rooms or Broadcast Operations.

  • Assess new technical initiatives and determine their feasibility and application on a project-by-project basis.

Budgeting & Financial Oversight

  • Review creative requirements to define post-production budget and strategy.

  • Partner with Post Supervisors and Line Producers to prepare, review, and refine show budgets and schedules, providing feedback on viability and potential risks.

  • Track, manage, and report all post-production costs, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of status and changes.

Post Scheduling & Coordination

  • Analyze production and post production schedules to identify efficiencies and potential improvements.

  • Draft and inform post-production schedules as needed.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Distribution, Localization) and external production partners to finalize and manage post schedules.

  • Communicate key cut schedule milestones and updates to all stakeholders.

Staffing & Vendor Management

  • Review and approve facilities for graphics, VFX, animation, color, and sound services.

  • Source, interview, and approve key post-production hires, including post producers, supervisors, editors, and assistant editors.

  • Select and manage relationships with post-production vendors to support creative vision, budget, tax incentives, and location requirements.

  • Maintain and curate preferred vendor and staffing lists to ensure access to top-tier talent and resources.

Content Management

  • Organize and participate in key creative approval sessions, such as final mix playbacks, VFX reviews, and color correction sessions.

  • Oversee the assessment and communication of all deliverables, ensuring timely delivery and strict technical compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of live post production experience as a Post Production Supervisor, or a managerial role within a post production vendor or sports media operations team.

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment overseeing several projects at various points of production (from development through delivery).

  • A passion for live content.

  • Experience managing quick turnaround and topical content where deadlines are firm.

  • Knowledge of current trends and workflows for UHD, HDR (Dolby Vision/HLG), and Dolby Atmos.

  • Familiar with professional-grade camera formats and post production tools used during editorial, online, grading, and sound post workflows.

  • Team player who operates in a fast-paced team-oriented setting.

  • Flexible with schedule (with ability to work some holidays and weekends, as needed)

  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.

  • Understanding how to prioritize and respond accordingly.

  • Desire and self-motivation to continuously learn.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite and knowledge of budgeting software.
