Lead Outsourcing Manager, Games
Netflix

Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
In an increasingly competitive landscape, our ability to scale development, access specialized expertise, and control costs is critical. We are seeking a hands-on and strategic-thinking Lead Outsourcing Manager to head up a centralized outsourcing function that empowers game teams across Netflix Games to deliver on time and at quality, while maximizing efficiency and flexibility.
You will work cross-functionally with game teams, central production, finance, and content acquisition partners to design and manage an end-to-end outsourcing program. Your expertise will help us identify the right partners, optimize costs, and ensure high vendor reliability across our portfolio. This is a rare opportunity to shape our outsourcing strategy and framework—starting with agile, bespoke approaches and maturing into a consistent, scalable system.
Responsibilities:
-
Strategy & Program Ownership
Develop and communicate a clear vision for outsourcing that aligns with both developer and business goals.
Define and drive the outsourcing strategy for Netflix Games, from initial solutions to a fully operational, scalable program.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all outsourcing needs across the portfolio, partnering closely with game teams, central production, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Maximize the use of existing Netflix vendor partnerships and tools—build, buy, or optimize where new solutions are needed.
-
Execution & Operations
Stand up and manage a centralized outsourcing framework, including vendor evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking.
Build and iterate on processes for vendor intake, RFP/RFQ, rate card management, and spend tracking in partnership with finance and licensing teams.
Develop and maintain a vendor matrix (abilities, specialties, reliability, rates), ensuring transparency and consistency across all projects.
Gather feedback from developers, finance, and business partners to refine and improve outsourcing processes.
Track and report on key metrics to demonstrate the impact of outsourcing on project delivery, cost savings, and vendor reliability.
-
Collaboration & Enablement
Map developer outsourcing needs to available vendors, resources, and cross-functional teams (e.g., Content Acquisition & Licensing, Finance, Central Production).
Work with cross-functional teams to streamline sourcing, contract negotiation, and onboarding workflows.
Serve as the escalation point for vendor performance issues, ensuring rapid resolution and high standards of quality.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging markets, and best practices in external development and outsourcing.
-
Leadership & Management Experience:
Demonstrated experience leading teams, projects, or initiatives, formally or informally
Experience managing through influence in a matrixed or cross-functional environment; ability to lead without direct authority
Proven ability to manage, mentor, or develop others, formally or informally
Requirements:
12+ years in games outsourcing, production, vendor management, or related field, with a proven track record of building or scaling outsourcing programs.
Demonstrated ability to own complex programs, influence without authority, and drive cross-functional alignment.
Strong project management and production planning skills; comfortable operating in ambiguity and building processes from scratch.
Deep understanding of vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, rate card management, and game production pipelines.
Experience managing global vendors and multi-studio environments.
Nuanced, analytical thinker—able to balance cost, quality, and flexibility, providing baseline guidance while enabling project-level negotiation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex requirements and present clear recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
Deep empathy for both game development teams and external vendors; passionate about delivering high-quality games efficiently.
Location: Los Angeles preferred; open to remote candidates.
