Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Role

The Global Internal Communications team works behind the scenes to keep employees around the world informed about our business, excited about the future, and connected with Netflix’s mission—to entertain the world. We work closely with senior leadership to bring the company strategy and culture to life in a transparent and engaging way. From producing global town halls and shaping leadership meetings to fresh, creative experiences that inspire and excite employees, this team has a front-row seat to what’s happening across the business—and helps ensure everyone else gets a clear view, too.

We’re a fast-moving, collaborative group that takes the work seriously, but not ourselves. We love what we do and genuinely enjoy working together—whether that’s solving big comms challenges, obsessing over the details that matter (to serial comma or not to serial comma—is this even a question?!), or jamming on out-of-the-box solutions.

Are you passionate about connecting people to culture and workplace programs that matter? As our Specialist, Internal Communications, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we engage and inspire employees by crafting compelling narratives that bring our strategic priorities to life. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Experience, you’ll work closely with teams across Talent, Workplace, and Corporate Events on topics like the evolution of Netflix culture, workplace technology, and how and where work gets done. This is your chance to help connect employees to what matters most through creative and impactful updates.

The person we’re looking for is a strong communications generalist who is also a strategic thinker—someone who connects the dots quickly and sees around corners to craft an effective communications approach, and needs minimal oversight. The right candidate takes a consultative approach and knows how to ask the right questions to understand different parts of the business, building deep trust with leadership and cross-functional teams. You should be a collaborative team player—self-motivated, resourceful, and highly organized—able to juggle multiple priorities.

Core responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the business to create communications plans, draft employee messages, and support organizational events;

  • Deliver clear, conversational updates across core channels (e.g., email, Slack, intranet, video, live/virtual events) to keep employees informed and engaged;

  • Craft change management communications that drive understanding, adoption, and positive outcomes;

  • Partner with corporate events to design experiences that highlight business strategies, launches, and milestones. You’ll manage announcements, creative vendors, and budgets;

  • Providing additional communications support to the Internal Comms team when needed;

  • Stay organized and on track through editorial calendars and planning tools (e.g., Asana), ensuring messages are timely and not overwhelming;

  • Manage projects with strong attention to detail and follow-through; and

  • Track and measure campaign impact to continually improve communications and support business goals.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, preferably within media, advertising, entertainment, or technology industries;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Natural relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and disciplines;

  • Comfort thriving in a fast-paced environment and working with a wide variety of internal partners;

  • Proficiency with content management systems for internal networks and email marketing tools to create and track campaigns;

  • A passion for helping people and a curiosity about culture; and

  • A dislike of hierarchy and bureaucracy, but also an understanding that some structure—as well as the ability to plan—is needed to work effectively at our size.

This role is based in either our Los Angeles or Los Gatos office.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
