At the heart of Netflix technology is the Platform, which serves as the foundation for Netflix application development, and powers the viewing experience of millions of customers every day. This Platform needs to be highly available at scale, robust, resilient and ergonomic.
The Dynamic Configuration Management team owns our Fast Properties service, which is a mission critical piece of the Netflix service architecture foundation and underpins many of our configuration needs. All our services rely on these configurations for many aspects of service management, including traffic management, application configuration, feature flagging, and much more.
We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (L5) to join us in supporting the growing needs of the Netflix development ecosystem. We need a responsible Engineer who is looking to understand and improve the development experience. If you are naturally curious, empathetic and innovative, you will excel in this role.

  • Los Gatos, CA or US Remote only.

Must haves

  • Microservice architecture experience (preferred at scale)
  • Experience building web applications using React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Strong experience in architecting, implementing, supporting, and maintaining distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of what can go wrong in a large-scale network
  • Experience working with partner and stakeholder teams on creating solutions with myriad, sometimes conflicting, requirements
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate end-to-end ownership of a critical part of Netflix’s infrastructure

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of industry experience developing in Java for the above
  • Development experience on a cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Previous experience with configuration management services
  • Customer support experience (or similar e.g. teaching, mentoring)

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $300,000 - $900,000.
