The Strategy & Corporate Development role is involved in impactful and complex projects with high visibility. You will become part of a highly collaborative team driving the company’s mission through M&A and companywide strategy projects. This small team is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing acquisitions and investments, as well as shaping the company’s strategy by identifying industry trends, overseeing corporate initiatives, and maintaining relationships throughout the financial services community.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):
    • Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst: $74,000 - $100,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Sr. Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst: $82,500 - $120,000 plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Evaluate the strategic fit, financial impact, and risks associated with potential transactions. Review financial statements and prepare financial models to support transaction analysis and decision-making including projections, sensitivity, valuation, and investment return.
  • Provide internal consultancy, collaborating with stakeholders and supporting cross-functional teams in strategy development. Support the development of long-term corporate strategy, portfolio analyses, and new markets.
  • Research and analyze industry landscape from internal and external sources, including competitor performance and M&A activity to evaluate new opportunities and identify emerging trends.
  • Project manage engagements, meetings, and follow up with target companies to drive evaluations, due diligence, and strategic initiatives.
  • Interact with multiple levels of cross-functional management on a regular basis to align strategy, gather feedback, develop business cases or present findings. Create and deliver executive-level presentations for internal and external constituents.
  • Department Specific Functions:

    • Corporate Development: Source, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and minority investments.
    • Corporate Strategy: Assist in long-range corporate strategy planning, track industry trends, evaluate internal & external market opportunities, develop strategies to diversify into new markets and support leadership in aligning resources to deliver on those strategies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Math.
  • 2-4 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or strategic planning at a Fortune 500 company or FinTech.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to present complex information in a manner that supports executive decision-making. Adept with technology and a strategic thinker -proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, and problem solving.
  • Self-directed with a bias toward action, resourcefulness, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial spirt. Ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Natural collaborator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and/or financial services is beneficial, but experience in various industries is welcome.
  • CFA, FRM or other related professional examinations a plus, but not requisite
