Dragonfly is a crypto-native Venture Capital and research firm with $2B+ in assets under management and 160+ portfolio companies (see list). Our Talent team works to support the recruiting efforts of the companies within our portfolio by connecting them with talented potential candidates.
One of our portfolio companies is hiring an FPGA Developer to join as an early member and help design, implement, and optimize low-level logic for their high performance networking systems. This is not a listing for an internal role at Dragonfly.
What They Are Looking For:
- Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog and experience with simulation/debugging tools (e.g., ModelSim, Vivado)
- Solid understanding of digital design concepts: state machines, pipelining, timing closure, etc.
- Familiarity with FPGA toolchains from Xilinx
- Hands-on experience working with real-time or latency-sensitive systems
- Comfortable working in a Linux-based development environment and using Git
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially across hardware/software interfaces
- Experience implementing mathematical functions and encryption/decryption algorithms in hardware
- Maintain and refactor existing FPGA codebases to improve performance or adapt to new requirements, including experience designing ABIs and command & control interfaces for integration with broader system components
- Exposure to high-speed I/O and interconnect protocols (e.g., PCIe, AXI, 100G/400G Ethernet)
About the Role:
- Develop, simulate, and debug FPGA code (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) for custom hardware
- Assist with the integration of FPGA logic into broader hardware and networking systems
- Support synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis workflows
- Maintain and refactor existing FPGA codebases to improve performance or adapt to new requirements
- Work with hardware and DevOps teams to deploy and monitor FPGA systems in production environments
- Contribute to hardware validation and bring-up of new boards or modules
- Document technical specifications, design notes, and test procedures
Other Roles We’re Hiring For:
If this role isn’t the right fit, we’re also hiring engineers across the portfolio, especially those interested in crypto infrastructure, developer tools, or zero-to-one product builds. Many of our portfolio companies are looking for founding or early-stage engineers ready to ship and own core systems.
Process:
- We’ll confidentially match you with portfolio companies aligned with your background, skill set, and interests. If mutual interest exists between you and a team, we’ll facilitate a warm introduction.
- If there isn’t a match today, we’ll keep you top of mind for future opportunities.
Our portfolio companies are globally distributed, hiring for remote, hybrid, and in-person roles worldwide. They’re building across the entire crypto ecosystem, including DeFi, CeFi, infrastructure, L1s and L2s, creator/consumer applications, NFTs, ZK, and more. All candidate submissions are strictly confidential.
Submit your information below, and we’ll be in touch if there’s a potential fit.
