As an SBA Specialist, you will be responsible for guiding borrowers through documentation, ensuring a smooth and efficient loan process, and proactively identifying and resolving issues that may arise.
Additionally, SBA Specialists are measured on borrower engagement, document completion rates, loan conversion, and overall borrower satisfaction. What you will own:
Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, providing updates and answering loan-related questions.
Educate borrowers on loan structuring and use of proceeds to set clear expectations.
Ensure borrowers complete requested documentation, proactively following up via phone and email.
Assist borrowers in gathering, reviewing, and submitting required SBA loan documents.
Perform a high-level review of uploaded documents to understand the borrower’s business and identify potential loan structuring concerns.
Track and manage all assigned deals through to completion using the CRM.
Work closely with Funding Desk Processors to address lender feedback and outstanding document requests.
Maintain clear and accurate notes in CRM to provide visibility for AEs and ensure smooth deal flow.
Act on feedback from underwriting teams to resolve document issues efficiently.
Maintain a strong borrower engagement rate and ensure timely document submission.
Meet or exceed monthly performance targets based on loan volume and borrower progression.
Adapt and optimize workflows to improve borrower conversion rates.

Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and keep borrowers engaged.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deals at various stages.
Quota-driven mindset, comfortable working in a sales-influenced role with performance targets.
Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and ability to track borrower progress effectively.
A problem-solving approach, with the ability to address borrower concerns and lender requests proactively.
