About the Role

We are looking for a Sr Director, Lending Platforms to lead the Decision Systems team, driving the design and operation of decision infrastructure that enables automated, high-impact business outcomes across the enterprise. This role requires a seasoned, strategic leader who can partner effectively across the organization to translate highly complex, cross-functional business initiatives into reliable and automated scalable decisioning solutions that enable LendingClub’s strategic objectives. In this role, you will guide the team through technical and organizational challenges, foster a culture of accountability and innovation, and consistently deliver measurable business impact through modern decisioning technology.

What You'll Do

  • Provide Leadership for the Risk Infrastructure function, setting strategic direction and driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives aligned with LendingClub’s business, risk, and regulatory objectives
  • Partner with senior leaders across Credit Risk, Modeling, Engineering, Product, Data, Marketing, and Business to ensure risk decisioning capabilities enable scalable growth, portfolio performance, and disciplined risk management
  • Enable Credit Risk and Business leaders with reliable, transparent, and high-performing decision systems that improve portfolio outcomes, speed to market, and risk-adjusted returns
  • Drive consistent, high-quality execution of BAU policies and models across portfolios with strong governance, prioritization, reduced operational risk, and predictable delivery timelines
  • Establish deep organizational expertise in LendingClub’s products, platforms, technologies, and operating model to influence strategy, optimize decisioning outcomes, and accelerate innovation
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Credit Risk and Business leaders by translating strategic priorities into a clear demand management framework and an effective operating model for Risk Infrastructure
  • Define and champion the technology vision and future-state architecture for decisioning platforms in partnership with Engineering leadership, ensuring scalability, resilience, and long-term sustainability
  • Provide executive-level reporting and insights to senior leadership and governance forums, including transformation progress, key risks and dependencies, and strategic recommendations
  • Build and lead high-performing team by developing leadership talent, setting clear accountability, and fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee offshore and vendor partnerships, talent strategy, and workforce planning to maximize operational efficiency and delivery effectiveness
  • Optimize operating costs through effective offshore and vendor management while maintaining service quality, delivery velocity, and risk controls
  • Own internal and external regulatory audit engagement for Risk Infrastructure, ensuring strong controls, timely remediation of findings, and proactive regulatory readiness

About You

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience building and developing high-performing teams and delivering complex technology programs within fast-paced fintech or financial services environment
  • 10+ years of deep expertise in decisioning and rules engine, including platforms such as GDS Link, Provenir, Drools, Alloy, Blaze, Oscilar, or equivalent technologies
  • Strong hands-on technical foundation with experience designing and scaling APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and defining enterprise technology strategy
  • Proven cross-functional leadership with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and drive tangible outcomes
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively at all organizational levels, including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated success operating in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments, solving complex technical challenges while delivering outcomes aligned to business objectives
  • Executive presence and strategic mindset, balancing long-term vision with disciplined execution, operational rigor, and efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent work experience

Work Location
San Francisco

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. LendingClub offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Primarily PT

While the position will primarily work local hours, LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements
As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations, as needed.

Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 220,000-255,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClub’s Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
