Job Description

Role Mission

The Gucci Inventory Planner is responsible for the strategy and execution of stock to maximize sales for Gucci Americas (US and Canada). This role owns and drives category-specific distribution planning, stock rebalancing, and reverse logistics to support the full potential and performance of inventory.

Activities include demand planning, launch planning, and replenishment through close partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders. This role works across regional and global Inventory Planning teams, to maximize product ownership from the initial planning stages, through in-season actions, to total stock exits. By supporting the team on a variety of analysis and projects, the Planner will acquire an understanding and knowledge of Gucci multi-channel and multi-country supply chain.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy and Distribution

  • Manage allocation strategy for the US and Canada markets (100+ points of sale);
  • Drive stock deployment at launch and coordinate the distribution to the stores through auto-replenishment;
  • Work with Inventory Planning leaders to create processes to support hyper-localized approach for inventory distribution and replenishment, leveraging data and qualitative feedback from VPs/Market Directors and Store Directors;
  • Ensure regional and global stock strategy of Months of Supply (MOS) and increase sell-throughs, hit seasonal targets through a tailored by market approach;
  • Monitor the level of stock in store and online (AUR, Weeks of Coverage) and receive feedback to ensure stock availability during the peak periods defined by the region;
  • Initiate reverse logistics when needed, following the lifecycle of the products and long tail analysis;
  • Evolve processes and tools defined with the Supply Chain community and show initiative to create new strategies and processes for constant cross-category optimization.

Launch and In-Season Planning

  • Lead launch plan and guide Inventory Planning execution based on forecasted/actualized receipts, supporting the integrity of the Merchandising assortment and any Marketing activations;
  • Review the forecast initiated by central team on novelty with regional Merchandising, in collaboration with regional Business Planning and Finance;
  • Support cross-departmental planning with Omni Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Retail and Digital teams to build cohesive launch and replenishment plans across channels;
  • Liaise closely with local Supply Chain Operations team to monitor stock building and shipping progress for timely in store deliveries;
  • Prepare and analyze weekly sales reports ensuring planned sales and stretch targets are met;
  • Suggest and execute stock movements and transfers based on results.

Replenishment and Stock Management

  • Develop replenishment/model stock process for category and processes across the Inventory Planning team to determine efficiency opportunities;
  • Create stock allocation strategies and propose systemic solutions based on historic sales, seasonal potential, while considering WOC and front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) considerations;
  • Define business strategy of the categories, reporting and sales recaps, product tool creation, competitive market analysis, and allocation/distribution of goods in accordance with company strategic business plans;
  • ​Omni strategic focus, while maximizing channel-centric opportunities;
  • Collaborate with Merchandising Manager and retail managers to develop a strong understanding of market dynamics and needs, supplemented by store visits and competitor analysis;
  • Build strong relations with the retail network and regularly review store business plan to ensure it supports forecasted market needs;
  • Communicate and partner closely with retail teams and leadership on client needs and day to day inquiries;
  • Collaborate with central supply chain and regional corporate partners (Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Training, Marketing, Supply Chain, Retail Performance, Production, Demand Planning);
  • Give visibility to logistics and stores regarding the characteristics of the new products: dimensions, units of distribution, to optimize the organization of the warehouse and BOH in terms of space and accessibility.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, business, analytics, merchandising, or related field, MS, or MBA highly desirable;
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Demand Planning, Production Planning, Assortment Planning, or Analytics with deep analytical and financial analysis;
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and/or SAP;
  • Experience with size analysis and category preferred;
  • Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to detail;

Salary Range – New York City

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York City, GUCCI includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications. In addition, where a candidate falls within the disclosed range estimate may be dependent on the applicable geographic differential associated with the location in which the position may be filled.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $70,000 to $75,000.
