Overview
Instacart’s Delivery & Pickup team powers how customers receive their groceries and how shoppers fulfill those orders across a range of fulfillment models. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the end-to-end customer and shopper experience for delivery and pickup—from the information we collect at checkout to a seamless handoff at the door or curbside.
In this role, you’ll drive product strategy across both the consumer app and the shopper app, partnering closely with engineering, design, and data science in a core squad, and collaborating with business development, operations, and finance. You’ll have broad product ownership, a clear line of sight from decisions to business outcomes, and the opportunity to improve order quality, operational efficiency, retailer success, and contribution profit. You’ll work with a talented group that includes a core team of engineers and cross-functional partners who share a bias for action, data-driven decisions, and customer obsession.
This is a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment where ambiguity is the norm and impact is measured by shipped value. If you’re energized by complex marketplace challenges, ML-enabled experiences, and crafting UX that works beautifully for both sides of a marketplace, you’ll thrive here. This role is remote-friendly across North America.
About the Job
- Own the multi-quarter roadmap for delivery and pickup experiences across customer and shopper surfaces, aligning strategy to measurable improvements in order quality, reliability, and contribution profit.
- Design and ship smarter handoff flows (delivery and curbside), leveraging ML to improve accuracy, predictability, and ease for both customers and shoppers.
- Partner with engineering, design, and data science to run discovery, define clear PRDs and success metrics, instrument features, and iterate quickly through experiments.
- Collaborate deeply with operations, finance, and business development to ensure product decisions reflect on-the-ground realities, retailer needs, and healthy marketplace economics.
- Define and monitor KPIs for fulfillment quality (e.g., on-time arrival, successful handoffs, customer and shopper satisfaction), run A/B tests, and translate insights into prioritized backlog and launches.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of product management experience building and shipping consumer or marketplace products at scale.
- 3+ years working in logistics, fulfillment, last-mile delivery, pickup, or two-sided marketplace domains.
- Proven experience partnering with ML teams to launch ML-powered features in production (e.g., prediction, ranking, routing) and interpreting model/experiment results to drive decisions.
- Proficiency with data-driven product development, including defining KPIs, running A/B tests, and using analytics tools and SQL (or similar) to self-serve insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional squads (engineering, design, data science) and influence stakeholders in operations, finance, and business development.
- Track record of creating and executing multi-quarter roadmaps and delivering measurable impact on quality, efficiency, or profitability.
- Experience with agile, iterative product development, including writing PRDs and user stories and managing backlogs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, quantitative, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Domain experience in grocery, retail operations, curbside pickup, or last-mile delivery.
- Experience shaping end-to-end UX across multiple surfaces (consumer and shopper/driver), with comfort reviewing wireframes and prototypes in tools like Figma.
- Success launching cross-functional programs with complex operational, compliance, or retailer dependencies.
- Strong experimentation portfolio demonstrating step-change improvements to quality, reliability, or unit economics.
- Advanced degree (MBA or technical master’s) is a plus.
