About the Role:
You will be helping get our benefits customers ready for their renewal and guiding them through the decision-making step of offering the best benefits for their company. In this role, you’ll also use your pipeline-management skills to ensure on-time renewals and to streamline benefit administration with insurance carriers, drive operations and communications with third-party partners, and build the health insurance engine that will make benefits with Gusto great.

This role can be located in Denver, Las Vegas, or Denver.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Proactively work directly with customers and health insurance carriers to prepare and advise employers on the benefits offering that meet their and their employees’ needs within established timelines.
- Consult with customers to understand their business needs via phone and email interaction.
- Create personalized benefits recommendations for customers that meet their and their employees’ needs.
- If applicable, provide our customer with upsell recommendations based on their needs/qualifications.
- Provide expertise and guidance to customers at key moments in their relationship with Gusto.
- Manage competing priorities to ensure all customer and carrier deadlines are met.
- Meet individual and team-wide service-level expectations to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Gusto to resolve customer questions or issues during renewal.
- Analyze, refine, and iterate on processes to drive the customer experience and improve our internal efficiency.
- Be a resource & knowledge partner - stay up to date on industry trends, benchmarks, and regulations.
Here’s what we're looking for:
- 2-4+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, bonus points for health insurance / benefits experience.
- Life and Health Producer License is required to fulfill this role.
- Experience managing a customer pipeline or book of business format workstreams.
- Strong written and verbal client communication: able to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Problem solver: enjoys digging to get to root cause and delivering solutions to the customer.
- Obsessively organized, detail-oriented to manage competing deadlines.
- Growth mindset: thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
- Approach problems with a passion for improving the customer experience and reducing operational inefficiencies.
- Can manage multiple customer timelines simultaneously, beginning to end.
- Experience in Health Insurance or Benefits a strong plus.
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $25.96/hour to $30.77/hour in Denver, Las Vegas, and Orlando. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
