Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned personnel to ensure quality patient care, including forms and procedures
  • Monitor workflow and schedule to ensure productivity standards are met
  • Administer policies and procedures in a consistent and timely manner
  • Evaluate performance and recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions, assist in interviews, train, and orient staff
  • Work with senior management to ensure operations and relations are effective
  • Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested
  • Ensure personnel forms and records are kept updated and submitted to other departments in a timely manner
  • Coordinate staff work activities and serve as resource to medical management staff in various markets
  • Collect clinic performance and quality metrics and produces reports for management
  • Coordinate conference calls and assist with preparation for meetings for medical management staff in market
  • Leads and develops programs including new hire orientation, initial and annual competency program, LearnSource Course development
  • Develops/supports educational programs for staff including Nursing Staff and Medical Assistants
  • Develops CEU programs for RN/LPN
  • Designs an infection control program and plan, organize and implement educational programs for all staff to ensure compliance with regulations; evaluates the effectiveness of the plan and modifies as necessary
  • Applies epidemiologic principles and statistical methods, including risk stratification to target population, analyze trends and risk factors, and design and evaluate prevention and control strategies
  • Conducts on-going surveillance using Center of Disease Control infection criteria, documentation, and monitoring / reporting of patients presenting with infectious disease
  • Conducts environmental rounds in all outpatient care areas; collects needed data
  • Supports the Performance Improvement Program and Patient Safety Program

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or related field (4+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • Active unrestricted RN license in the state of Kansas/Missouri
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and OLA (Office Laboratory Assistant)
  • 5+ years clinical nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education and/or infection prevention experience
  • Emergency or other critical care experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge: Must be able to review root cause of problems, issues, develop plans in collaboration with others and implement plans for process improvement. Demonstrated ability to lead others and to think outside of conventional processes. Possess knowledge of research techniques, data analysis and reporting, forward/strategic planning and integration of technologies within staff development initiatives. Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements such as OSHA and regulatory/accrediting requirements. Principles of adult learning and education. Epidemiology principles and concepts of infection prevention and nursing theory
  • Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication and problem solving skills. Demonstrated skills in performance improvement process, program development, project management, computer technology, database development and management and instruction design. Proficient in field of nursing practice and possess independent clinical skills
