EMPLOYER:    Optum Services Inc. 

JOB TITLE:     Director, Product Management 

LOCATION:    11000 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

DUTIES:    Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Duties to include: Provide team direction on execution of their roles; Perform annual reviews, review work product, and hold each employee accountable for their delivery as product managers supporting the products and/or capabilities; design highly specialized computer applications to drive Optum Public Cloud efficiency and overall business success; ensure applications meet Optum’s demanding standards for privacy and security; design high performance enhancements to these proprietary Optum applications; design, and implement new technology features that build on existing functionality, including but not limited to integrating with new technology; ensure compliance with Optum’s software development life cycle protocols and ensure project priorities are recorded and satisfied; raise risk factors to the appropriate Optum project management team; improve functionality, reliability, testability, availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency of Optum applications; adhere to Optum version control, release management, and deployment protocols to distribute new functionality to the user base; facilitate all Optum quality assurance protocols, including user acceptance testing, and providing all required metrics and data, including issue tracking; design and develop reporting as needed to summarize and analyze Optum application functionality; ensure these proprietary applications satisfy Optum’s rigorous internally-defined technical requirements for performance, resiliency, availability and scalability; collaborate with Optum solutions users to build, extend, and enhance applications that accelerate efficiency and innovation across the organization; provide post deployment support and respond to and resolve unexpected service problems in production; full accountability for Optum’s Public Cloud product life cycle; conduct release scope definition (Iterations, themes, Epics); Define product requirements across multiple Cloud Service Providers; create, manage and communicate product road map, and collaborate with Cloud Engineering teams for feature/function design and development; and responsible for story creation, definition of story acceptance criteria, acceptance testing and coordination of release/deployment validation; and leverage existing team tools and processes to drive product requirements and delivery. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.     

REQUIREMENTS:    Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Managemeent or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related computer occupation.  Position requires five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience involving the following: Public cloud domain; technical product management; financial accountabilities for product, executive presentation skills; people management; roadmap planning using tools such as Aha and Rally; and healthcare and technical industry.

RATE OF PAY:  $141,359 – $191,894 / per year
