About the Company

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in 2014, offering a wide range of simple, reliable, and secure crypto products and services to individuals and institutions in over 70 countries. Our mission is to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom by providing trusted access to the decentralized future. We envision a world where crypto reshapes the global financial system, internet, and money to create greater choice, independence, and opportunity for all — bridging traditional finance with the emerging cryptoeconomy in a way that is more open, fair, and secure.

The Department: Strategy & Corporate Development

The Strategy & Corporate Development team at Gemini is a dynamic and integral part of our organization, working closely with company leadership to drive critical decision-making and operational excellence. As generalists, we tackle the firm's most complex and ambiguous problems, balancing strategic thinking with practical implementation. Our scope encompasses business prioritization, growth strategy, market entry/exit, organizational alignment, and investor relations. We conduct thorough internal and external analyses to inform strategic planning and execute cross-functional initiatives from conception to completion.

The team also focuses on improving company-wide efficiency by developing streamlined processes and managing performance through metrics and goal-setting. Additionally, we oversee mergers and acquisitions, early-stage investments via the Gemini Frontier Fund, and other key efforts driving long-term competitive advantage. By partnering with senior leadership on high-impact projects and data analyses, we ensure Gemini not only charts a visionary course but also has the operational framework to execute effectively, solidifying our position as an innovative leader in the digital asset space.

The Role: Lead, Project Manager

Gemini is seeking a Lead, Project Manager to stand up a project management office (PMO) framework, driving project execution and strategic alignment across Gemini. This role will initially focus on defining and rolling out Gemini’s new PMO structure—setting standards, templates, governance, tooling, and cross-functional alignment.

This individual will serve as the operational backbone, bringing clarity and executional rigor to strategic projects that span across departments including Legal, Compliance, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations. Upon successful implementation of the PMO framework, this role will broaden to include owning and executing high-priority special projects and strategic initiatives across the company.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives on building processes from scratch, bringing order to complexity, and keeping teams aligned across a fast-moving, global organization.

This role is required to be in person twice a week at either our New York City, NY or Miami, FL office.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, launch, and maintain Gemini’s Project Management Office (PMO) framework, including:
    • Establish clear project governance (roles, responsibilities, escalation, approvals).
    • Define standard project phases and explicit criteria for advancement (phase gates).
    • Set consistent expectations for project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
    • Implement effective change management processes (change requests, impact analyses).
    • Establish standardized communication channels and reporting cadences (status updates, dashboards, Slack channels).
    • Define and track clear quality and performance metrics (KPIs, success criteria).
    • Maintain thorough documentation and audit trails (version control, approvals, post-implementation reviews).
  • Serve as the hands-on project manager for select high-impact, cross-functional initiatives aligned with strategic objectives (e.g. new entity expansions, critical infrastructure upgrades, etc.).
  • Act as an internal champion and coach, proactively training and leveling-up project management across teams, ensuring that practices become embedded.
  • Facilitate clear and ongoing alignment and decision-making across departments and functions, ensuring consistent communication, coordination, and execution against strategic objectives.
  • Continuously refine and enhance the PMO framework, leveraging stakeholder feedback, practical learnings, and evolving business requirements to ensure sustained value, clarity, and ease of adoption across Gemini.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in project management, program management, or operations, ideally in fintech, SaaS, crypto, or other regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated success building, launching, or significantly enhancing a PMO or similar cross-functional project management processes.
  • Ability to translate ambiguity into clear, structured execution plans with defined outcomes and timelines.
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate stakeholder alignment, cross-functional coordination, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Highly autonomous, proactive, and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at translating complex problems into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in a remote-first, distributed environment; proficient with async communication and collaboration tools (Slack, Google Docs, Jira, Notion, etc.).
  • Fluency with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) for productivity, automation, and decision support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in crypto, Web3, fintech, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience implementing or operationalizing OKRs or other strategic frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (SQL, Looker, Dune Analytics).
  • Project management certifications.
