Job Description
Looking for Product Safety Engineer that has working knowledge within (IEC 62368-1 & IEC 61010-1 and some of its collateral. The engineer should be able to demonstrate working knowledge within the standards identified above. The project engineer should be able to work independently with some guidance as needed on a variety of products to the requirements of U.S., Canadian and other international product safety standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients.
Product Safety Engineer Include but are not Limited to the Following:
- Require standard knowledge needed IEC 62368-1 and or IEC 61010-1.
- Engineer should be able to prep their Test Plans & execute on testing.
- The Engineer should be able to fill in there TRF pertaining to the above standards. Guidance will be provided as needed from senior engineers and management.
- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
- Test products in accordance with standards and requirements. Core tests include, but are not limited to power input, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, stability, mechanical hazards, flammability, abnormal and single fault, IP testing and others as applicable per project and compliance requirements.
- Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing and project execution.
- Perform preliminary design reviews (PDR) as they grow in their career.
- Communication with customers & sales on project status.

Qualifications
Basic Minimum Work Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of product safety experience in Testing, inspection and certification /NRTL lab is required.
- IEC 60601-1 is plus to have.
- The ability to travel as business needs dictate up to 15%.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Basic Minimum Education Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree – Engineering discipline preferred.
- 2-year engineering degree required at minimal.

Position is full-time working Monday - Friday 8am - 5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Santa Clara, CA are encouraged to apply.
