Job Description
We are seeking a Formulation Analytical Chemist to support a dynamic client team focused on formulation research and development for cutting-edge drug modalities. This role is ideal for a scientist with strong LC-MS experience and a background in analytical chemistry, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and execute LCMS-based analytical assays to support formulation and process development of lipid nanoparticles, mRNA, and protein therapeutics.
- Perform advanced characterization using LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, UPLC, SEC-MALS, and related techniques.
- Author test methods, SOPs, and technical reports to document assay development and results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with formulation, genetic medicine, and analytical development teams to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and assay performance, interpret complex data sets, and present findings in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain meticulous records in electronic lab notebooks and sample tracking systems.
- Take initiative in expanding responsibilities and contributing to team success.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 3–4 years of industry experience, or M.S. with 1–2 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with LCMS, including method development and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with QExactive or Orbitrap mass spectrometry platforms.
- Experience analyzing lipids, RNA, and proteins using LC-MS workflows.
- Ability to work independently after initial training and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ICH guidelines for assay qualification.
- Experience in a regulated environment supporting drug development.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.
