Job Description
The Finance Manager will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust accounting operations, and sound internal controls, while also contributing to financial strategy and analysis. This person will oversee a small team of finance and accounting professionals, driving timely and compliant month-end close, maintaining strong financial systems, and ensuring operational excellence. In addition, they will partner with leadership to provide clear financial insights that support decision-making and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-minded, and motivated to build a best-in-class controllership function. This role is hands-on, requiring a strong command of accounting principles, reporting requirements, and process improvement, balanced with the ability to provide financial guidance and analysis to leadership.
Sr. Finance Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee general accounting operations, month-end and year-end close, in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Lead and mentor a small team finance and accounting professionals, fostering growth and high performance.
- Manage/implement internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit coordination to ensure financial integrity.
- Improve and streamline financial processes, reporting structures, and ERP system usage to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles with a focus on aligning financial plans to actual performance and operational execution.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and documentation to support scalability and governance.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide actionable financial insights and recommendations.
- Monitor key operational and financial metrics, highlighting risks, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive process automation initiatives and system enhancements to strengthen both accounting and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or finance,
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
- Public accounting and/or audit background.
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting.
- Experience managing audits, internal controls, and compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Prior involvement in ERP upgrades, automation, or financial system improvements.
- Familiarity with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance accounting rigor and strategic insight.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Information
Position is full-time working Monday - Friday between 9:00am - 5:30pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Norwood, MA are encouraged to apply.
