Job Description
We're looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Aseptic Monitoring Technician at our new commercial cell therapy production center in Frederick, MD. In this role, you’ll be part of our Quality Control (QC) team, helping support cutting-edge work in cancer immunotherapy. You’ll focus on microbiological testing and environmental monitoring to ensure the safety and quality of our life-changing therapies.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform routine environmental and utility monitoring in cleanrooms and controlled spaces
- Collect and test samples from air, surfaces, personnel, and critical utilities (e.g. water, gases)
- Inspect media fill samples and conduct testing for product, validation, and raw material samples
- Receive, quarantine, and store microbiological media
- Track and coordinate the removal of biohazardous waste
- Participate in validation activities and manufacturing support
- Review and issue Environmental Notifications based on monitoring data
- Represent QC in site meetings and cross-functional discussions
- Support testing for solid oral dosages, raw materials, packaging components, and sterile products
- Troubleshoot equipment or testing methods when issues arise
- Contribute to final product release testing (e.g. endotoxin, sterility, particle isolation)
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and compliant lab environment
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field with hands-on lab experience
- Team player with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic knowledge of microbiology techniques like Gram staining, aseptic technique, and plate streaking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry
- Familiarity with GMP and GLP practices
- Understanding of USP guidelines and other regulatory standards
- Experience with HPLC/UPLC systems
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools
- Training or experience in environmental monitoring of facilities and utilities

Additional Details:
The position is full-time, first shift, Wed-Sat from 7 am-6 pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Frederick, MD, are encouraged to apply.
