GENERAL FUNCTION

The Analyst Systems – S (DVI Lens Production) provides advanced lens product/manufacturing support for digital and semi-finished lenses, assists in the selection of new lens designs/materials, and ensures integrity of manufacturing processes. This role handles Tier 3 level support for Digital Vision Inc software management and require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a member of the Lens Selection Committee, research and test new lens designs and materials; analyze results and costs to recommend primary vendors.
  • Research, analyze, and verify lens technical and cost information.
  • Coordinate with vendors to analyze/resolve digital and semi-finished lens processing issues.
  • Research, analyze, and verify lens technical, cost information, and production issues.
  • Understand and implement Walman lens inventory policies and procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate introduction of new products and removal of obsolete products from inventory.
  • Understand and maintain lens manufacturing data integrity between Digital Vision Inc. (DVI) software and internal systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot DVI machine interfaces communication and configuration issues.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement lens manufacturing software enhancements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two-year Technical or Associates Degree and six (6) years of experience supporting complex ophthalmic lens production processes or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Inventory control processes and procedures
  • Experience assessing unique/problematic prescriptions and recommending viable manufacturing solutions.
  • Strong customer service and technical support experience
  • Working knowledge of computer technology, networks, and Microsoft products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Complex technical problem analysis and resolution experience
  • Advanced expertise configuring Digital Vision Inc. (DVI) optical manufacturing software.
  • Strong working knowledge of vendor lens calculation engines.
  • Advanced ophthalmic product knowledge – lenses, coatings, manufacturing machine capabilities, and constraints
