GENERAL FUNCTION
The Materials Handler II will provide backup support to manage the Inventory Control team. The Materials Handler II works closely with the management team to hold cycle counters accountable for productivity, accuracy, and process. The Materials Handler also trains new associates and follows up on their understanding and productivity. Materials Handler II will be responsible for counting all specialty areas SVA, Remix (including newly created area), and proposed counts in the general area.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Asst. Supervisors with the monitoring of all cycle count programs and ensure consistency and accuracy in same and identify all operational problems in inventory.
- Back up Asst. Supervisors in maintaining records of all variances according to establish procedures and ensure accuracy of all products in the facility.
- Train employees and staff in all inventory control processes according to manual and update processes if required.
- Manage all communication with the inventory control manager and make recommendations on inventory-related problems.
- Monitor all inventory control processes and document all procedures to maintain all equipment and tools.
- Back up Asst. Supervisors in managing all inventory transactions and provide critical feedback to the Asst Sup/Team.
- Cycle count all specialty areas.
- Lead the team when the Asst. Supervisors are out or on PTO.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ year(s) experience
- Excellent mathematical aptitude/numerical recognition
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors/Manager
- Ability to communicate/cooperate with DC associates
- Ability to interact professionally with both corporate and non-corporate personnel
- Ability to use material handling equipment (pallet jacks, carts, etc.)
- Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in a stand/walk position for up to 10 hours
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Optical knowledge and/or experience in a production environment
- Prior experience in distribution center/warehouse
