The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for managing and supporting our independent distribution partners in their designated region. Additionally, the RSM is responsible for direct sales efforts in their territory, responding to inquiries when they come in. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, result-driven salesperson, capable of contributing positively to the overall group sales target.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute growth strategies across a defined list of top accounts.
  • Manage and lead regional Business Development in the region, consisting of the RSM, a Product Specialist, and an Inside Sales Representative to find and develop new business, network with and nurture relationships with key accounts such as state agencies, NGOs, ECPs, or school districts.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and either follow up proactively or delegate cooperatively with the Inside Sales department or Product Specialist to ensure the customer is helped.
  • Work closely with Inside Sales on non-assigned accounts, supporting where necessary to close business
  • Coordinate with Blindness Product Specialists to drive incremental Braille sales through workshops and other field activities in designated accounts
  • Log monthly activity and key next steps for all key accounts and relating to business development activities.
  • Build and maintain sales pipeline through regular contact with distributors and key accounts. When an opportunity is identified, create it in the CRM, and ensure follow-up tasks are assigned.
  • Work closely with customer service and operations to resolve issues that may arise to help ensure a best-in-class customer service experience.
  • Understand, report on, and counter competitor activities in assigned territories.
  • Manage company-owned demonstration equipment in assigned territory and ensure it is in good condition and fully accounted for.
  • Maintain and develop best-in-class product knowledge of HumanWare and competitor products.
  • Attend national conferences and sales meetings as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of prior experience in educational, technology or a related medical field is an advantage

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with state and federal agencies, school districts, and eye care professionals (e.g., optometrists, ophthalmologists), especially in the low vision field.
  • Comfortable with technology and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with assistive technology is a strong asset.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; able to build credibility and maintain client relationships.
  • Customer-focused, results-driven, and proactive with a hunter mindset for business development.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills; self-motivated with a flexible schedule and willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
