What You Can Expect
As our Instrumentation & Controls Manager at Georgetown University, you will rebuild a team of Instrumentation & Controls technicians, including development and training. The ideal candidate will be interested in being a key contributor to large-scale infrastructure upgrades.
Every day, you will support ENGIE Asset Optimization at the Central Utility Plant and collaborate with centralized Information Technology/ Operational Technology IT/OT, network, and cybersecurity teams as well as the customer. You will report to the Director of Energy Delivery.
You will:
- Be responsible for reviewing, commissioning, upgrading, troubleshooting, expanding, maintaining, and operating ENGIE’s control systems, networks, and data acquisition systems
- Supervise I&C technicians and assist in performing system maintenance to identify and analyze failures and repair control equipment, including Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers, transmitters, analyzers, positioners, and utility system metering
- Lead teams in the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of advanced plant control systems and networks
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program for all utility plant instruments and control equipment
- Be responsible for the deployment and management of multiple control and data acquisition systems including AVEVA, Allen Bradley, WebCTRL, and other legacy systems
- Create reports to meet client needs and develop alarms based on the needs of the operations group
- Respond to critical plant events and are responsible for being a point of escalation on controls and networking issues
- You will work closely with Project and Asset Management to monitor and report on KPIs, which incorporate the monthly scorecards
- You will carry out other job-specific duties as assigned by the Director of Energy Delivery
What You’ll Bring
- You have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience or
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma / GED and professional experience totaling a minimum of ten (10) years, including the experience listed below.
- You possess 5-7 years of experience working in Instrumentation, Controls, and Metering
- You have a detailed understanding of all automation systems (Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs); SCADA; Human Machine Interface (HMI) Instrument) and all plant instrumentation and controls
- You can demonstrate the ability to resolve complex production issues
- You can read and markup electrical, loop, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
Additional Details
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; may drive company vehicle
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- This position consists of 15% outdoor work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
- Ability to meet the highest attendance requirements
- Knowledge of Industrial networking topology, protocols, and infrastructure
- Understanding of Industrial data historians such as OSIsoft PI System, Proficy, PowerBi
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Required to wear personal protective equipment
Compensation
Salary Range: $$136,680 – $227,760 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
