What You Can Expect
As our EHS Intern, at ENGIE’s Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP), you will be performing support work for the Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) that includes development of procedures, assistance with projects and other tasks to assist the EHS Manager while using your exposure to MATEP to enhance your education in the EHS, facilities and power generation field. The internship work term will be June 2, 2025 – August 22, 2025The EHS Intern reports to the EHS Manager.
You will:
- Work internally in the physical plant and externally on the facility’s grounds or at satellite facilities; you may be required to work overtime - relief, off-shift, and emergency coverage (nights, weekends,) and/or other, as needed
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety at an accepted four-year university
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- You will perform other related duties as required
Additional Details
- This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
- You can work at least forty (40) hours of consistently-scheduled availability within standard working hours (7:30am – 4pm) in Eastern Standard time, Monday – Friday. Exact hours are negotiable
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- This position consists of 25% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
- The employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment and clothing where appropriate because of their work around potential hazards such as loud noise, airborne particles, vibration and hazardous materials. Including but is not limited to, safety eyewear, footwear, hard hat, gloves, hearing protection, specialized clothing and a company issued uniform
- May require repetitive stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, and carrying, intermittent lifting
Compensation
Hourly Range: $24.50 - $25.50 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
