ENGIE North Africa is hiring an HSE Manager to join the team in Casablanca.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Strategy :
- Define the HSE strategy and management framework within the region, considering key business opportunities and threats related to HSE.
- Provide guidance and support to entities regarding safe work systems, corporate safety rules, and operational excellence.
- Lead the HSE network in the region.
- Oversee HSE governance in North Africa.
- Act as the expert in HSE methods and guidance for all entities, including construction and development projects.
- Ensure high-quality reporting on HSE performance indicators and objectives to the AMEA HSE department and Group HSE Department.
- Support management in implementing HSE policies aligned with Group policies, international standards, and local regulations.
- Ensure risk management processes are consistently applied across all entities, including construction projects.
- Assist management in investigating incidents and conducting audits to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage HSE training and competency programs to align with Group and AMEA requirements.
- Lead the implementation of HSE processes during acquisitions, due diligence, company integration, and permitting.
Expected Outcomes :
- Ensure HSE performance reporting for all entities.
- Support the implementation of the AMEA operational excellence program.
- Review risk assessments conducted by entities and monitor the progress of associated major risk action plans.
- Develop HSE initiatives aligned with the strategy and risks.
- Advise entities on HSE objectives and action plans.
- Conduct evaluations, including peer reviews, audits, gap assessments, and due diligence.
- Establish a training framework for entities in line with Group requirements, such as Health & Safety Leadership (ENGIE University) and managerial safety visits.
- Support and review incident investigations conducted by entities.
- Share learnings from incidents and lessons learned (REX - feedback experience, OEF - Operations Experience Flash).
- Provide guidance on ISO 14001, 31001, and 45001 certification implementation.
- Support entities with health, safety and environmental reporting in the ENGIE tools (EARTH).
Governance :
- Member of the ENGIE North Africa Executive Committee.
- Reports to the MD Generation Africa, with direct contact with the country manager Morocco as needed.
- Functionally reports (matrix structure) to the AMEA HSE Head.
- Functional leader of HSE for HSE managers in the entities.
Profile:
- Master’s degree in HSE or equivalent.
- Professional registration with HSE organizations.
- Internationally recognized qualification in occupational health and safety.
- Professional certification in security (civil, military, police) or relevant experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in plant operations, construction, or HSE management in an industrial environment.
- Strong technical understanding in:
- Wind,Solar and thermal power plants & desalination units.
- Power plant and desalination unit construction.
- Service industry.
- Knowledge of corporate safety regulations.
- Industrial experience in the AMEA region is preferred.
