What We’re Looking For:

As a CRM Engineer III Software Developer at 2U, you will be a key technical leader, responsible for guiding a team of engineers and administrators in developing and maintaining the critical business systems that support our prestigious university partners. You will leverage your expertise to set the technical direction for an education-focused CRM, with a strong emphasis on Agentforce and Data Cloud implementations, driving value-driven outcomes for the business. For this particular opening, 2U Software Development is looking for a senior level CRM Engineer who will work on complex enterprise architecture, full-stack development, and team leadership. This individual will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a passion for changing higher ed, and a solution-minded, consultative approach to development.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Leadership & hands-on Development:

  • Lead a team of Salesforce engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of 2U’s core Business Systems and CRM infrastructure.
  • Perform hands-on development and prototyping new innovative capabilities
  • Support and maintain production systems by triaging, diagnosing, and resolving platform defects and incidents to ensure system stability and reliability.

Collaboration & Governance:

  • Establish and enforce technical best practices for development, architecture, and quality assurance to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure systems.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into value-driven technical solutions and capabilities that align with core business services.
  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Solution Architecture & Design:

  • Drive the conceptualization, design, and implementation of innovative solutions, with a particular focus on leveraging and integrating Agentforce and Data Cloud technologies.
  • Oversee the design and building of transactional systems that process our university and learning management system data.
  • Direct the design and building of systems that efficiently move data from various source systems such as Snowflake, Java based apps, and other clouds (AWS).

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • 8+ years of progressive Software Development experience, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or lead role.
  • Experience working with Service, Sales and Data Cloud having implemented Agentforce use cases with Call Center/IVR integrations with Salesforce.
  • Expertise in Apex and Visualforce programming experience, and a strong focus on Salesforce Flow (Screen, Record-Triggered, and Auto launched Flows) for declarative automation.
  • Proven experience developing modern user interfaces using Lightning Web Components (LWC) and/or Aura Components.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce DX (SFDX) for source-driven development and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) DevSecOps tools such as Gearset or Copado.
  • A propensity for building tools that automate and make processes reliable and scalable.
  • Proven ability to establish and enforce technical best practices, perform rigorous code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Background coding in a structured environment with Agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or other related field.

While this position is open to remote candidates across the U.S., we will prioritize those who live in the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area and who are available to come into our Headquarters in Arlington, VA two days a week.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($97,000 -$158,000), with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
