At Discord, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here. We match qualified interns with projects and groups, based on interests and skill sets and fully embed interns within those groups for the summer.
Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks, targeting a start date in June to accommodate varying school calendars.
The Team
The Perks team builds the features that go into Nitro, Discord's subscription service. We build features that users love - so much so that they're willing to pay for them - to promote Discord's vision of a multiple billions in revenue.
What You'll Do
- Building the revenue driving products and services at Discord.
- We work across iOS, Android and our web application. We work across the stack, but it's ok if you don't know all of our technology on day one!
- Work with designers and product managers to create delightful interfaces and experiences.
You'll Succeed In This Role If...
- We're a multi-platform team, so it's important to understand the development frameworks and fundamentals of one or more of our platforms: web (React, TypeScript), Android (React Native, Kotlin), iOS (React Native, Objective-C, Swift), and backend (Python and some Elixir).
- You believe in solving a problem completely rather than simply shipping a solution, and you know how to operate autonomously.
Bonus Points
- Strong open-source leadership or contributions
- Experience making hard tradeoffs between important goals
- Experience on a product team building in new markets
Salary of $63/hour*
