At Collective Health, we’re transforming how employers and their people engage with their health benefits by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology, compassionate service, and world-class user experience design.

The Eligibility team plays a crucial role in our healthcare organization, managing the essential process of member enrollment across all our clients. We handle significant volumes of sensitive data that directly impacts individuals' access to their health benefits—effectively serving as stewards of what we consider the "currency of healthcare." Our work directly supports operations teams in their mission to maintain seamless, uninterrupted membership services for our clients.

We are architecting the next generation of our systems, creating exciting opportunities for innovation. This position represents a data-centric role with high visibility throughout the organization and significant impact on our business operations.

If you're passionate about applying technical expertise to solve meaningful healthcare challenges, we would love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop scalable, secure and configurable platform services for eligibility
  • Lead end-to-end development of services across backend(Java/Spring), integration platforms and frontend (React/Angular)
  • Build and extend APIs and data services to enable partner integrations and downstream systems
  • Integrate and operationalize AI-powered developer tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor) and contribute to incorporating ML-backed capabilities into platform workflows
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and data teams to solve complex real-world problems like real-time eligibility validation, data and interface integrations, data enrichment, and automated decision rules
  • Engage with our operations team to help them improve their overall efficiency
  • Drive architectural decisions and champion reusable patterns for cloud-native, AI-enabled backend systems
  • Mentor other engineers and influence best practices in system design, testing, and continuous delivery

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 8+ years of working as a full stack engineer
  • To be well-versed in technologies such as Java & Spring, including strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • To use AI-enhanced development tooling like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or WindSurf as part of your regular development workflow
  • Experience building frontend features in React/Angular, even if not your primary focus
  • Deep experience in Cloud Technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with data architecture, SQL/PostgreSQL and building data intensive services
  • To communicate clearly up, down and across teams
  • Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining complex systems
  • To be able to balance getting things done with making things perfect
  • To take pride in mentoring other developers
  • To love working with a team of awesome, collaborative co-workers
  • To be involved in the decision making process, taking into account the needs of our customers as well as our company
