At Collective Health, we’re transforming how employers and their people engage with their health benefits by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology, compassionate service, and world-class user experience design.

The Data Engineering Platform team builds and manages the foundational systems that power data at Collective Health—from ingestion and modeling to access and delivery. We support a wide range of data needs across the organization, enabling everything from business analytics and data science to operational reporting and external integrations. The team plays a central role in enabling a data-driven culture and ensuring that high-quality, trustworthy data is available where and when it’s needed.

This Senior Manager role will lead the function responsible for the consumption and delivery layer of our data platform. You’ll oversee a team of 4–6 data engineers focused on making trusted, modeled data easily accessible to internal teams and external partners. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering Platforms, you’ll help shape how data is exposed and delivered across the company, from building curated datasets for analytics to enabling data exports for clients and partners. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data engineering, product enablement, and operational scale—and is excited to lead a growing, high-impact team.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and mentor a team of 4–6 data engineers focused on delivering high-quality, production-grade data products.
  • Own the development of data marts, curated datasets, and semantic layers that power dashboards, models, and business workflows.
  • Design and oversee data delivery mechanisms such as APIs, FTP drops, reverse ETL jobs, and system/database integrations with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners—including analytics, product, and operations teams—to ensure data products meet business needs.
  • Establish SLAs, documentation practices, and monitoring to ensure reliability and trust in delivered data.
  • Drive architectural and technical decisions in the consumption layer, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Contribute to and help shape broader data platform strategy in partnership with other platform leads.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years leading data engineering teams.
  • Proven experience designing and operating consumption layers for analytics platforms, including data marts, semantic models, and governed datasets.
  • Strong expertise with modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery), ELT patterns, and data modeling (especially dimensional models).
  • Experience with data delivery mechanisms such as API integrations, FTP/SFTP pipelines, or database syncs to third-party systems.
  • Solid SQL skills and experience working with large-scale, distributed data systems.
  • A track record of delivering reliable, well-documented, production-ready datasets that support analytics and business operation
